Henry Kuttner (April 7, 1915 – February 3, 1958) was an American author of science fiction, fantasy and horror. Early life Henry Kuttner was born in Los Angeles, California in 1915. Kuttner (1829–1903) and Amelia Bush (c. 1834–1911), the parents of his father, the bookseller Henry Kuttner (1863–1920), had come from Leszno in Prussia and lived in San Francisco since 1859; the parents of his mother, Annie Levy (1875–1954), were from Great Britain. Henry Kuttner's great-grandfather was the scholar Josua Heschel Kuttner. Kuttner grew up in relative poverty following the death of his father. As a young man he worked in his spare time for the literary agency of his uncle, Laurence D'Orsay (in fact his first cousin by marriage), in Los Angeles before selling his first story, "The Graveyard Rats", to ''Weird Tales'' in early 1936. Robert L. Kuttner (; born April 17, 1943) is an American journalist and writer whose works present a liberal/progressive point of view. Kuttner is the co-founder and current co-editor of ''The American Prospect'', which was created in 1990 as an "authoritative magazine of liberal ideas," according to its mission statement. He was a 20-year columnist for ''Business Week'' and ''The Boston Globe.'' Kuttner is also one of five 1986 co-founders of the Economic Policy Institute, and currently serves on its executive committee. Stephan George Kuttner (March 24, 1907 in Bonn – August 12, 1996 in Berkeley), an expert in Canon Law, was recognized as a leader in the discovery, interpretation and analysis of important texts and manuscripts that are key to understanding the evolution of legal systems from Roman law to modern constitutional law. Biography Born in Bonn, Germany, into a family of Jewish ancestry, Kuttner was raised as a Lutheran and converted to Roman Catholicism in 1932. He received his law degree from Berlin University in 1931, where he was a classmate and friend of the legal historian Hsu Dau-lin. She has regularly appeared on the music television channel VIVA since November 2001 after being selected out of 1500 other participants in a casting held in summer of that year. Stuart Kuttner (born 1939/1940) is a former newspaper editor. He worked as the news editor for the ''London Evening Standard'' before joining the '' News of the World'' newspaper in 1980 first as a deputy editor, then as managing editor. He held the position for 22 years before stepping down from his post in 2009 and retiring to Woodford Green. He was arrested on 2 August 2011, in connection with the News International phone hacking scandal, but has now been acquitted. He was 71 at the time of his arrest. Sarah's Law Kuttner was closely involved with the campaign for Sarah's Law. It was for this work that he and a colleague were awarded the "team of the year" prize at the 2002 British Press Awards. ''Sarah Kuttner – Die Show'' was a German television talk show that ran on VIVA and was then transferred to MTV under the title "''Kuttner.''" in mid-2005. It ran from 2 August 2004 to 3 August 2006. Hosted by Sarah Kuttner, it was a more youthful variation on the traditional late show concept with a sidekick, , and various national as well as international celebrity guests. Josua Heschel Kuttner
Josua Heschel Kuttner or Kutner (Hebrew: יהושע העשיל קוטנר) (c.1803 – 5 July 1878) was a Jewish Orthodox scholar and rabbi. He was born in Wreschen (Września) in the Grand Duchy of Posen, the son of Aron Kuttner and his wife Michle, a great-granddaughter of Rabbi Naphtali Cohen. Around 1830 he settled in Lissa (Leszno), where he acted as preacher and, since before 1850, as assessor of the rabbinate and rabbi. He died in Lissa. His son, Naphtaly Kuttner (1829–1903), was the grandfather of science fiction author Henry Kuttner and politician Edgar C. Levey. Kurt Küttner (1907 – 1964) was an '' SS-Oberscharführer'' (Staff Sergeant) who served at Treblinka extermination camp, arrested and charged with war crimes at the Treblinka trials twenty years after the war ended. Career Before World War II, Kurt (Fritz) Küttner worked for many years as a warden in the German police. During Operation Reinhard in occupied Poland he was in charge of the lower camp of Treblinka II ''Totenlager'', where he became one of the most feared and hated SS officers. He would follow people around, stop them and search for money, pictures or any family mementos that the prisoners would try to hide on their person. These entities are usually depicted as immensely powerful and utterly indifferent to humans who can barely begin to comprehend them, though some entities are worshipped by humans.
