Kuttippuram Railway Station
Kuttippuram railway station (Code: KTU) is a railway station in the Malappuram district, Kerala and falls under the Palakkad railway division of the Southern Railway zone, Indian Railways. History Tirur railway station, which is the one of the nearest stations to Kuttippuram is the oldest railway station in the Indian state of Kerala. The railway line from Tirur to Beypore is the oldest railway line in the state which also consists of other railway stations at Tanur, Parappanangadi, and Vallikkunnu. The Tirur–Beypore railway line started functioning on March 12, 1861. In the same year, a railway line from Tirur to Kuttippuram was laid via Tirunavaya and it started function on May 1, 1861. Beypore
Beypore or Beypur (formerly Beypoor) is an ancient port town and a locality town in Kozhikode district in the state of Kerala, India. It is located opposite to Chaliyam, the estuary where the river Chaliyar empties into Arabian Sea. Beypore is part of Kozhikode Municipal Corporation. The place was formerly known as Vaypura / Vadaparappanad and also as Beydary. Tippu Sultan, ruler of Mysore, named the town "Sultan Pattanam". Kuttippuram Bridge
The Kuttippuram Bridge is a bridge that connects Kuttippuram with Thavanur-Ponnani region in Malappuram district, Kerala, India. The Tirur and the Ponnani Taluks are separated by the river Bharathappuzha, which is also the second-longest river in Kerala. The bridge connects these two regions. It is a part of the National Highway 66 on Kozhikode - Kochi route. It is one of the largest as well as oldest bridges built over the river Bharathappuzha, and plays a major role in connecting the Malabar region with the erstwhile Travancore-Cochin via road. Situated on the northern bank of Bharatappuzha (River Ponnani/Nila or Perar), it is one of major Hindu pilgrimage centres in Kerala. Vallikkunnu is a village in Tirurangadi Taluk of Malappuram district in the state of Kerala, India with an area of 25 km2.
