Kurt Quarterman
Kurt Quarterman (born October 5, 1983) is a former American football guard. He last played for the Sacramento Mountain Lions in the United Football League in 2012. He played college football at the University of Louisville. High school career Quarterman attended Westover Comprehensive High School in Albany, Georgia where he was a three-year varsity football starter and earned All-Metro Conference second-team honors as a senior in 2001. In track and field, Quarterman was a three-time state champion in shot put and discus and set the school and regional records for discus as a junior. College career Quarterman played college football for the University of Louisville. As a freshman, Quarterman didn't see any playing time during Louisville's 2002 season. As a sophomore in 2003, Quarterman played in all of Louisville's 13 games, but just on special teams (extra point and field goals) and in short yardage situations. Guard (American Football)
In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. The guard's job is to protect the quarterback from the incoming linemen during pass plays, as well as creating openings (holes) for the running backs to head through. UTEP Miners Football
The UTEP Miners football program represents University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) in the sport of American football. The Miners compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the West Division of Conference USA (CUSA). They are coached by Dana Dimel. UTEP has produced a Border Conference championship team in 1956 and a Western Athletic Conference championship team in 2000, along with 14 postseason bowl appearances. A dispersal draft is a process in professional sports for assigning players to a new team when their current team ceases to exist or is merged with another team. Like most other sports drafts, most dispersal drafts are conducted in North America. Gil Brandt (born March 4, 1932) is an American former football executive who was the vice president of player personnel in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys from 1960 to 1988. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin. Early years A native of Milwaukee, he attended North Division High School where he was a 150-pound starting defensive back. He also lettered in basketball and track. He enrolled at the University of Wisconsin, but left after two years.
