Kurt Maflin
Kurt Graham Maflin (born 8 August 1983) is an English-Norwegian former professional snooker player. A strong break-builder, Maflin has compiled more than 200 century breaks during his career and has made two 147 breaks in professional competition. Career Early career Maflin began playing snooker at the age of four, achieving a high break of 25 by the time he was five. He increased his time spent at the table practising. As a rated top junior player, Maflin represented England in the 1999 Home International series in Prestatyn, North Wales, where England were victorious. After appearing in the Finals of the English National Championships in the Under-13 and Under-15 categories, he went on to become the first person to retain the English Under-17 national title (once held by Paul Hunter) in 2000 after winning it for the first time in 1999. 2016 Paul Hunter Classic
The 2016 Paul Hunter Classic was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 24 and 28 August 2016 at the Stadthalle in Fürth, Germany. It was the fourth ranking event of the 2016/2017 season. Named in honour of former professional snooker player Paul Hunter, this was the first time for which the event was a ranking tournament, having previously been a minor-ranking event of the Players Tour Championship. It was also the first of the two ranking events of the season, along with the Gibraltar Open (also a former European Tour event), which would be open to amateurs and would form the new Amateur Order of Merit. Anita Rizzuti (born 12 January 1971, also known as Anita Maflin) is a Norwegian snooker and pool player. She is married to professional snooker player Kurt Maflin. Career Rizzuti was a semi-finalist at the inaugural EBSA European Women's Championship in 1996, losing 0–5 to Karen Corr. She reached the semi-finals again in 2001, losing 1–4 to Kelly Fisher and was a quarter-finalist in 1999, 2004 and 2006. Rizzuti, Reanne Evans and Wendy Jans all took part in the 2010 World Open. Alex Borg
Alex Borg (born 5 June 1969 in Mellieha) is a Maltese former professional snooker player. Borg currently resides in Mellieha, Malta. Career Borg first turned professional in 1991, and regularly appeared as a wild card in the Malta Grand Prix, where throughout the event's history he defeated players including Nigel Bond and John Higgins. His best performances were reaching the semi-final in 1997 and 1998. He also competed as a wild card in the Malta Cup. The 2008 World Snooker Championship (also referred to as the 2008 888.com World Snooker Championship for the purposes of sponsorship) was a professional snooker tournament that took place between 19 April and 5 May 2008 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England. It was the 33rd consecutive year that the World Snooker Championship was held at the Crucible Theatre, and the seventh and final ranking event of the 2007–08 snooker season. The tournament was organised by World Snooker, and sponsored by betting company 888.com. The tournament featured a total prize fund of £1,050,000 with £250,000 being awarded to the winner. Gareth Coppack
Gareth Coppack (born 10 April 1980 in Rhyl) is a Welsh former professional snooker player. He competed on the main tour for one season, between 2007 and 2008, but lost his place at the end of that season. Career Coppack first played competitive snooker in 2001, entering several Challenge Tour events and qualifying for the 2002 World Championship. He continued to play on both the Challenge Tour and the Pontin's International Open Series, which replaced it, until he earned a place on the professional main tour in 2007. The 2008 Honghe Industrial China Open was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 24 and 30 March 2008 at the Beijing University Students' Gymnasium in Beijing, China. This was the penultimate ranking event of the 2007–08 season, preceding the 2008 World Snooker Championship. Barry Hawkins
Barry Hawkins (born 23 April 1979) is an English professional snooker player from Ditton, Kent. He turned professional in 1996, but only rose to prominence in the 2004–05 snooker season, when he reached the last 16 of the 2004 UK Championship, the quarter-finals of the 2004 British Open and the semi-finals of the 2005 Welsh Open.
