Kurt Dunder
Kurt Dunder is a Danish comics series written and drawn by Frank Madsen. It was created in 1986. Concept The series is about an adventurer, Kurt Dunder, who travels around the world, along with his friend Bill Milton and Attila the monkey, to solve strange mysteries and riddles. It is drawn in the ligne claire style and published by Eudor Comics. So far, two albums have been translated in English, namely "Kurt Dunder in Tirol" in 2000 and "Kurt Dunder in Africa" in 2015. Frank Madsen
Frank Bruun Madsen (born 1962 in Kalundborg, Denmark) is a Danish author, illustrator and comics artist. He is married to another Danish comics artist, Sussi Bech. Together they produce a weekly satirical comic strip "Eks Libris" for the literary supplement of Weekendavisen. Frank is also the author of Kurt Dunder, an adventure comic created in the ligne claire style, and three comic albums with LEGOs science fiction character Jim Spaceborn. Awarded the Hanne Hansen Prize in 2017. Three times nominated for the Claus Deleuran Prize (best comics author, 2016, 2017 and 2018). Eks Libris Eks Libris is a highly satirical strip focusing on the literary scene of Denmark with its authors, publishers, reviewers, readers and occasionally Frank and Sussi themselves, striving to meet their deadline against all odds. Ligne Claire
''Ligne claire'' ( French for "clear line", ; nl, klare lijn) is a style of drawing created and pioneered by Hergé, the Belgian cartoonist and creator of ''The Adventures of Tintin''. It uses clear strong lines sometimes of varied width and no hatching, while contrast is downplayed as well. Cast shadows are often illuminated, and the style often features strong colours and a combination of cartoonish characters against a realistic background. The name was coined by Joost Swarte in 1977. History Hergé started out drawing in a much looser, rougher style which was likely influenced by American comic strip artists of the late 1920s and 1930s, such as Gluyas Williams and George McManus. ''Adventure Comics'' is an American comic book series published by DC Comics from 1938 to 1983 and revived from 2009 to 2011. In its first era, the series ran for 503 issues (472 of those after the title changed from ''New Adventure Comics''), making it the fifth-longest-running DC series, behind '' Detective Comics'', ''Action Comics'', '' Superman'', and '' Batman''.
