Kurdistan Philharmonic Orchestra
The Kurdish Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the few active classical music orchestras in Iran. It was founded in 2005 by a group of musicians in the city of Sanandaj. Introduction The idea of establishing a Kurdish Philharmonic Orchestra was brought to life in 2005 by a group of musicians in Sanandaj. Kurdistan Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the most active collectives of the Kurdistan province, which has held several programs in Sanandaj during the past few years and organized the Fajr Music Festival. In addition to performing several live programs in recent months, the group has held specialized workshops and workshops with a number of Iranian and foreign artists. Sanandaj
Sanandaj (Persian: سنندج, ; ku, سنە, Sine, often romanized as Senneh, is the capital of Kurdistan Province in Iran. With a population of 414,069, Sanandaj is the twenty third largest city in Iran and the second largest Kurdish city. The concertmaster (from the German ''Konzertmeister''), first chair (U.S.) or leader (U.K.) is the principal first violin player in an orchestra (or clarinet in a concert band). After the conductor, the concertmaster is the second-most significant leader in an orchestra, symphonic band or other musical ensemble. Nader Mashayekhi
Nader Mashayekhi ( fa, نادر مشایخی; born November 26, 1958 in Tehran) is an Iranian composer. From 2006 to July 2007 he was conductor of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra. He is the son of Jamshid Mashayekhi. Mashayekhi studied under Roman Haubenstock-Ramati at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. In the 1990s he was music director of the Austrian new music ensemble "Wien 2001". Conducting
Conducting is the art of directing a musical performance, such as an orchestral or choral concert. It has been defined as "the art of directing the simultaneous performance of several players or singers by the use of gesture." The primary duties of the conductor are to interpret the score in a way which reflects the specific indications in that score, set the tempo, ensure correct entries by ensemble members, and "shape" the phrasing where appropriate. Conductors communicate with their musicians primarily through hand gestures, usually with the aid of a baton, and may use other gestures or signals such as eye contact. Loris Haykasi Tjeknavorian ( hy, Լորիս Ճգնավորյան; fa, لوریس چکناواریان; born 13 October 1937) is an Iranian Armenians, Iranian Armenian composer and conductor. He has appeared internationally as a conductor, serving as the principal conductor of the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra from 1989 to 1998 and later from 1999 to 2000. Mohammad Reza Tafazzoli
Mohammad Reza Tafazzoli (born 1974) is an Iranian composer. Career Mohammad Reza Tafazzoli was born in 1974 in Karlsruhe, Germany. He started his musical education in the Boys Conservatory of Tehran and graduated in 1992. Before leaving for Russia in 2002 he graduated from the Music Academy in Azad University of Arts and Architecture. He studied composition in the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory of Music in Saint Petersburg, under Boris Tishchenko, a pupil of Dmitri Shostakovich and a prominent figure in the Saint Petersburg school of composition. He studied Polyphony and Musical Form and Analysis with Anatoli Milka and Igor Rogalev. He returned to Iran in 2007 soon after obtaining his Diploma With Honor from the conservatory. Kurdish Music
Kurdish music refers to music performed in the Kurdish languages and Zaza-Gorani languages. The earliest study of Kurdish music was initiated by the renowned Armenian priest and composer Komitas in 1903, when he published his work ''" Chansons kurdes transcrites par le pere Komitas"'' which consisted of twelve Kurdish melodies which he had collected. The Armenian Karapetê Xaço also preserved many traditional Kurdish melodies throughout the 20th century by recording and performing them. In 1909, Scholar Isya Joseph published the work "''Yezidi works''" in which he documented the musical practice of the Yazidis including the role of the musician-like qawâl figures and the instruments used by the minority. Kurdish music appeared in phonographs in the late 1920s, when music companies in Baghdad began recording songs performed by Kurdish artists.
