Kupari
The Kupari (from pt, compadre referring to the godfather of one's godparent, godchild; word derived from ''Kumpari'' and feminine being ''Kumari'' or Portuguese; ''comadre'') consist of Kadodi Christians and Samvedi Christians, whixh are a Roman Catholic Brahmin sub-group in the Christian Bombay East Indian community, of the people of Konkan division. They are concentrated mostly in Bassein (Vasai) ( pt, Baçaim), India, which is about north of Mumbai (Bombay) city. The population is about 40,000 to 45,000. The two Konkani dialects spoken by the ''Kupari''s are Samvedi Boli Bhasha and Kadodi, which are a mixture of Gujarati language, Guzerati, Mahratti & Indo-Portuguese. 97% of the population is Roman Catholic and the remaining minority is a mixed population of various Protestant Revolutionary denominations. Holy Spirit Church Nandakhal
Holy Spirit Church, Nandakhal is a historic Roman Catholic Church in Vasai (Bassein), Maharashtra, India. This church was built in 1573 by Portuguese Missionaries. Roman Catholic Brahmin (IAST ''Bamonns'' in Romi Konkani, ''ಬಾಮಣು'' in Canara Konkani& ''Kupari'' in Bombay East Indian dialects) is a caste among the Goan, Bombay East Indian and Mangalorean Catholics who are patrilineal descendants of Konkani Brahmin converts to the Latin Catholic Church, in parts of the Konkan region that were annexed into the Portuguese East Indies, with the capital (metropole) at ''Velha Goa'', while Bombay ('' Bom Bahia'') was the largest territory (province). Ostracism ( el, ὀστρακισμός, ''ostrakismos'') was an Athenian democratic procedure in which any citizen could be expelled from the city-state of Athens for ten years.
