Kunyang Station
The Taipei Metro Kunyang station is a station on the Bannan line located in Nangang District, Taipei, Taiwan. Station overview The two-level, underground station and has one island platform and four exits. It is located beneath Zhongxiao East Rd. Public art for the station is titled "Around" and is composed of carousel horses that dance to music whenever the viewer comes near. They are located along the glass windows of the concourse level. Station layout Any Bannan line trains from Dingpu or Far Eastern Hospital will terminate here during non-rush hours or when they are being transferred to the Nangang Depot, otherwise they will go to Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. It also served as the eastern terminal station of this line from 2000 to 2008 when Nangang opened for MRT service. Nangang, United States National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency District (), also Nankang, is a southeastern district of Taipei, Taiwan. It is the seat of the Academia Sinica, Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall, and Nankang Software Park (NKSP). History Nangang was settled in 1735 by Fujianese, especially in the present villages of Nangang, Sanchong, and Dongxin. The placename was ' (), Nangang-Sanchong Port (). The Qing era name of Lamkang'a (), refers to its position on Keelung River. In 1920, during the Japanese era, Nangang was part of , , Taihoku Prefecture. Dingpu Metro Station
Dingpu station is a subway station of Taipei Metro. This station is a 2 km extension to and the western terminus of the Bannan line. Dingpu station is located in Tucheng District, New Taipei City. Construction began in January 2010 and commercial service was scheduled to begin in 2013. Commercial service was scheduled to begin in 2014, but was pushed back to 6 July 2015. It will be the eastern terminus for the New Taipei Metro Sanying line in 2023. Station layout The four-level, underground station with island platforms. Far Eastern Hospital Metro Station
Far Eastern Hospital () is a metro station in Taipei, Taiwan served by Taipei Metro. Station layout The two-level underground station makes use of island platforms and has three exits. The station is 243 meters long and 20.5 meters wide. Blue line trains from Kunyang or Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center terminate here during non-rush hours. Design The entrance to the station was designed as an arch bridge (from "qiao" in Banqiao, meaning "bridge"). It is also meant to represent a "cloud wall", a characteristic of traditional Chinese gardening; the station is located next to Yuanzhi Memorial Garden. Public art in the station consists of a piece titled "River Romance", which combined LED lamps with glass sticks to create a color-changing "river of time". Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location.
