The Kunstforum Salzkammergut is an Austrian art association in the Salzkammergut region, based in Gmunden Gmunden () is a town in Upper Austria, Austria in the district of Gmunden (district), Gmunden. It has 13,204 inhabitants (estimates 2016 ). It is much frequented as a health and summer resort, and has a variety of lake, brine, vegetable and pine-c ..., whose members deal with various art forms. Originally founded in 1928, the Salzkammergut Artists' Guild changed its name to Kunstforum Salzkammergut in 2008. The association runs its own gallery in Gmunden and organises exhibitions, cooperations with other institutions, publications, readings, concerts and other events for the associated artists, in particular also in the Kammerhofgalerie in the Kammerhofmuseum in Gmunden. Salzkammergut
The Salzkammergut (; ; bar, Soizkaumaguad, label=Central Austro-Bavarian) is a resort area in Austria, stretching from the city of Salzburg eastwards along the Alpine Foreland and the Northern Limestone Alps to the peaks of the Dachstein Mountains. The main river of the region is the Traun, a right tributary of the Danube. The name translates to "salt demesne" (or "salt domain"), being a German word for territories held by princes of the Holy Roman Empire, in early modern Austria specifically territories of the Habsburg monarchy. The salt mines of Salzkammergut were administered by the Imperial in Gmunden from 1745 to 1850. Parts of the region were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Paul Jaeg (born Paul Gamsjäger 1949 in Gosau, Austria) is an Austrian artist and writer. Biography Paul Jaeg is a compositor, artist and writer in the German language. Between 1991 and 2005 he had 51 exhibitions of his artistic works in Austria and Bavaria (26 personal exhibitions, 25 in collaboration with other artists), e.g., in the City Museum of Bad Ischl, in the Egon Schiele Art Centrum, in Český Krumlov, the Künstlerhaus in Salzburg, and the Johannes Kepler University of Linz.
