Kung Fu Powerhouse
''Kung Fu Powerhouse'', (also titled ''One by One'' ), is a 1973 Hong Kong action martial arts film directed by Lung Chien, and starring Yasuaki Kurata. Plot Kuo Fu, a ruthless drug trafficker, escapes forced labor. The problem for him is that another prisoner insists on following him even after he escapes. Kuo suspects that his unwanted friend is a cop under an assumed name. Lung Chien (film Director)
Lung Chien (1916 – May 28, 1975), also known by the name Kim Lung, was a prolific China, Chinese film director and screenwriter active between the 1950s and the 1970s. Career Born in 1916, Lung Chien explores common themes in Hong Kong cinema such as mixed martial arts or violence in everyday life. He directed more than 30 films mostly in Taiwan and Hong Kong. He died in Taipei in 1975 at the age of 59. Kung fu film () is a subgenre of martial arts films and Hong Kong action cinema set in the contemporary period and featuring realistic martial arts. Yasuaki Kurata
is a Japanese martial artist and actor, best known for his work in Hong Kong action films. He holds dan ranks in Karate (7th degree), Judo (3rd degree), and Aikido (2nd degree). Biography Kurata was born and raised in Sakura-mura, Niihari District, Ibaraki (now part of Tsukuba). Kurata studied performing arts at Nihon University and Toei Theater School. In 1966, Kurata began his career as an actor in ''Marude Dameo'', a Japanese TV series. In 1971, Kurata made his Hong Kong debut in the Shaw Brothers Studio kung-fu movie ''Angry Guest'' (悪客). Since then he has appeared in numerous other films and TV series within the genre. In Japan, he gained popularity for his role in the television series ''G-Men '75''. He is perhaps best known for his extended battle against Jet Li in ''Fist of Legend'' and for his villainous role in '' So Close''. He is fluent in Cantonese.
