Kunes
Xinyuan County () as the official romanized name, also transliterated from Uyghur as Künas County (; ), is a county in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and is under the administration of the Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture. It contains an area of 7,581 km2. According to the 2002 census, it has a population of 290,000. The county is served by Xinyuan Nalati Airport. Name The county's original name Künes was changed into Xinyuan in 1946 after the county established its seat on the Künes River upstream. "Xinyuan" means "New Headstream" in Chinese. Künes River
The Künes River ( ug, دەرياسى كۈنەس, Künes deryasi, Künəs dəryasi; zh, c=鞏乃斯河, p=Gǒngnǎisī hé) is a tributary of the river Ili (river), Ili in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, that originates in the eastern Tianshan. Geography The Künes River originates in the eastern Tianshan in the Eren Habirga Mountains and flows from east to west to merge with the Tekes River and form the Ili (river), Ili. It flows through glacial, Alpine tundra, alpine, and grassland environments, the latter including semi-arid, dry-steppe, steppe, meadow grassland, and mountain meadow. Xinyuan Nalati Airport is an airport that mainly serves tourists to the Nalati scenic area in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China. Kansu Town
Gansu (, ; alternately romanized as Kansu) is a province in Northwest China. Its capital and largest city is Lanzhou, in the southeast part of the province.
