Kundian Railways
Kundian ( ur, ), is the 2nd largest city of District Mianwali, tehsil Piplan in the Punjab province of Pakistan. Its population is near 50,000. This is divided into Kundian Katcha & Pacca units with total population of 150,000. Kundian Jn. railway station was built in 1896. Kundian is about 200 m above MSL. Kundian Nuclear Fuel Complex
Kundian Nuclear Fuel Complex (KNFC) is a nuclear fuel fabrication plant located at Kundian, Mianwali District, Punjab, Pakistan. History In 2006, the PAEC started work another nuclear fuel fabrication plant — Pakistan Nuclear Power Fuel Complex — located 175 kilometers south near Islamabad. An indigenous Nuclear Fuel Fabrication Complex at Kundian, known as Kundian Nuclear Fuel Complex (KNFC), already exists which was built by PAEC under Munir Ahmad Khan and completed by 1980. Kundian Nuclear Fuel Complex is a reactor uranium fuel fabrication facility situated near the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant. Chashma Barrage
Chashma Barrage is a barrage on the River Indus in Mianwali District of the Punjab province of Pakistan 304 km NW of Lahore and 56 km downstream of Jinnah Barrage. The contract for Chashma Barrage works was awarded on 10 February 1967 to French Consortium Société Dumez and Société Borie and was successfully completed by 25 March 1971. The total cost of Chashma Barrage works was Rs.399 million but power generation started later in 2001. The installed capacity of power Station is 184 MW, from eight Kaplan-type bulb turbine units, each with a 23 MW capacity. The bulb turbines have been installed for the first time in Pakistan. Sher Shah Suri
Sher Shah Suri ( ps, شیرشاه سوری) (1472, or 1486 – 22 May 1545), born Farīd Khān ( ps, فرید خان) , was the founder of the Sur Empire in India, with its capital in Sasaram in modern-day Bihar. He standardized the silver coin to the weight of 178 grams and named the currency as rupee based on the ancient Sanskrit term for silver.
