Kunar Cricket Ground
Kunar Cricket Ground ( ps, د کونړ کرکټ کرښه) is a cricket ground situated on the banks of the Kunar River at Asadabad, Afghanistan, Asadabad in Kunar Province. History Construction of the ground was funded by a $100,000 grant by the Asian Cricket Council, with construction commencing in the middle of 2017, following protests in Asadabad over delays in the project. The ground held its inaugural first-class cricket match when it hosted a match between Amo Sharks, Amo Region and Band-e-Amir Dragons, Band-e-Amir Region in the 2017–18 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament. To date the ground has hosted eighteen first-class matches, including for the Kunar Province cricket team. In a match between Kabul Eagles, Kabul Region and Boost Defenders, Boost Region in the 2018 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament, Kabul batsman Shafiqullah (cricketer), Shafiqullah scored the fastest double century in first-class cricket. Asadabad ( prs, اسعدآباد), also called Chaghasarai (), is the capital city of Kunar Province in Afghanistan. It is located in the eastern-northeastern portion of the country. The city is located within a valley at the confluence of the Pech River and Kunar River between two mountain ridgelines running along both sides of the valley from Northeast to Southwest. Kabul Eagles (Pashto/Dari: ''Kābəl Bāzān'') is one of eight regional level first-class cricket teams in Afghanistan. Cricket Grounds In Afghanistan
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Mis Ainak Knights ( ps, مس عينک اتلان ''Mis Ainak Atalān'') or Mis Ainak Region is one of eight regional first-class cricket teams in Afghanistan. The region represents the following provinces in the southeast of Afghanistan, to the south of the capital Kabul: Khost, Logar, Paktia and Paktika. The team is named after Mes Aynak, an archaeological site in Logar Province. Mis Ainak Region compete in the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament, which has had first-class status from 2017 onwards. Ihsanullah (born 28 December 1997) is an Afghan cricketer who is a right-handed opening batsmen. He made his first-class debut for Afghanistan against the Netherlands in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup on 29 July 2016. Prior to his first-class debut, he captained the Afghanistan U-19 team in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his Test cricket debut in March 2019.
