Kumasi Anglican Secondary School
The Anglican Senior High School, Kumasi, is a co-educational public high school situated in Asem, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Founded in 1973, the present headmaster is Rev. Canon Senkyiri. Crest The school's crest is composed of four elements: a golden shield with purple outline; a purple and white bishop's mitre; a purple Akan male stool; and a white scroll bearing the motto of the school, "Unity, truth and service". The shield refers to the "shield of faith" in Ephesians 6:16. The shield is also a symbol of defence and security. The indigenous Akan male stool in the centre of the insignia represents the contribution of traditional authorities towards the establishment and growth of the school. Ashanti Region
The Ashanti Region is located in southern part of Ghana and it is the third largest of 16 administrative regions, occupying a total land surface of or 10.2 percent of the total land area of Ghana. In terms of population, however, it is the most populated region with a population of 4,780,380 according to the 2011 census, accounting for 19.4% of Ghana's total population. Ignatius Kutu Acheampong
Ignatius Kutu Acheampong ( ; (23 September 1931 – 16 June 1979) was the military head of state of Ghana from 13 January 1972 to 5 July 1978, when he was deposed in a palace coup. He was executed by firing squad on 16 June 1979. Early life and education Acheampong was born to Catholic parents of Ashanti origin. He attended the Roman Catholic schools at Trabuom and the St Peter's school (also Catholic) at Kumasi, both in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He attended the then Central College of Commerce at Agona Swedru in the Central Region of Ghana. Acheampong worked as a stenographer/secretary at Timber Sawmill in Kumasi and later taught at Kumasi Commercial College, where he became Vice Principal at Agona-Swedru College of Commerce. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh is a Ghanaian politician and member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing the Juaboso Constituency in the Western Region on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress. Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka is the Member of Parliament for Asawase in the Ashanti Region of Ghana of the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and the 8th parliaments of the 4th Republic of Ghana.
