Professor Kulamani Parida, also known as K. M. Parida (born 9 May 1952) is an Indian chemical science professor and scientist best known for his work and research, mainly on material chemistry. Parida is amongst World’s Top 2% Scientist 2020 with global rank 109 in Inorganic Chemistry ( Ranking based on C-score) and Rank 1 in the area of photocatalysis in India and 131 rank in the world based on Scopus author profile during 2016-2021. He has won 19 state and national level scientific awards, and authored around 521 research articles, and 10 book chapters. Parida has also more than 38 national scientific patents. Biju Patnaik
Bijayananda Patnaik (5 March 1916 – 17 April 1997) was an Indian politician, aviator and businessman. As politician, he served twice as the Chief Minister of the State of Odisha. Early life His parents lived in Bellaguntha, Ganjam district, around 80 km from Bramhapur. He was educated at Ravenshaw College in Odisha but, due to his interest in aviation, dropped out and trained as a pilot. Patnaik flew with private airlines but at the start of the Second World War he joined the Royal Indian Air Force. He eventually became the head of air transport command. While in service, he developed an interest in nationalist politics and used air force transports to deliver what was seen as subversive literature to Indian troops. Mahamahopadhyaya Chandrasekhara Singha Harichandana Mahapatra Samanta (Odia: ମହାମହୋପାଧ୍ୟାୟ ଚନ୍ଦ୍ରଶେଖର ସିଂହ ହରିଚନ୍ଦନ ମହାପାତ୍ର ସାମନ୍ତ), better known as Pathani Samanta (Odia: ପଠାଣି ସାମନ୍ତ), was an Indian astronomer, mathematician and scholar who measured the distance from the Earth to the Sun with a bamboo pipe, and traditional instruments. He was born on 13 December 1835 in Purnimanta Pousha Krishna Ashtami, and died on 11 June 1904 in Purnimanta Adhika Jyeshtha Krishna Trayodashi. His research and observations were compiled into a book called Siddhanta Darpana, which was written in both Sanskrit and the Odia script. Bishwanath Das (8 March 1889 – 2 June 1984) was a politician, lawyer and philanthropist from India. He was the prime minister of Odisha Province of British India 1937–39, the governor of Uttar Pradesh 1962–67 and later the chief minister of Odisha 1971–72. Early life He was born on 8 March 1889 at Belgan village in Ganjam District of the erstwhile Madras Presidency, which is in the state of Odisha. He graduated from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack.
