Kuhveriya
''Kuhveriya'' is a 1998 Maldivian drama film edited and directed by Mohamed Rasheed. Produced by Villager Maldives, the film stars Moosa Zakariyya, Ismail Hilmy, Aishath Jaleel and Zeenath Abbas in pivotal roles. Premise A happily married couple, Nimal and Zeeniya (Ismail Hilmy and Aishath Jaleel) along with their daughter like sister, Reema, go on vacation where Zeeniya disappears. Although the civilians search the whole island, she is nowhere to be found and is pronounced to be dead. Years later, Reema now fully grown up, visits Male' from abroad and is romantically attracted to Nimal's brother, Shaheem (Moosa Zakariyya). Complications arise, when a servant is brought into the house who surprisingly looks similar to Zeeniya. Fathimath Zeenath (born 14 August 1978), commonly known as Zeenath Abbas is a Maldivian actress. She has established a career in Maldivian films and is the recipient of a Gaumee Film Award. Making her screen debut alongside Reeko Moosa Manik in the song "Edheythee Reethi Moona", her first film release was Mohamed Rasheed directed drama film '' Kuhveriya'' (1998). She next starred in Mariyam Shauqee's acclaimed family drama television series ''Kahthiri'' (1998) followed by a supporting role in Ali Musthafa-directed ''Umurah'' (1999) and Amjad Ibrahim-directed family drama ''Ainbehge Loabi Firiehge Vaajib'' (2000). Fathimath Nahula
Fathimath Nahula (born 22 June 1973) is a Maldivian film director, film producer and screenwriter. Early life In 1991, Nahula joined Jamaluddin school and worked as a teacher for four years. During the time, she spends most of her time in writing and developing stories. She then penned dialogues and stories for several films and television dramas produced by Television Maldives while publishing handful of them on different platforms including newspapers and magazines. Umar Zahir
Umar Zahir (22 November 1963) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Zahir began his career as a musician by joining several music bands in performing at resorts and events. It was then his talent was identified by music composers and producers, where he was offered to lend his voice for several of their compositions. His album series ''Hanhaara'' became a record-breaking album and its songs including "Erey Haadha Rueemey" and "Mooney Thee Hiyy Edhey" became chartbusters upon release. Ibrahim Amir
Ibrahim Amir (born 9 December 1967) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Ibrahim Amir was born and raised in the "Amir family" where several artists including Ahmed Amir and Fazeela Amir were brought up and "ruled" the local music industry. His talent was first recognized with the album ''Hiyy Fahi'' (1993) followed by several other duets with his sister Fazeela Amir. His songs from the album ''Fashuvi'' and ''Sameydhaan'' were particularly praised by music critics. Fazeela Amir (16 December 1969) is a Maldivian singer. Early life Fazeela Amir was born and raised in the "Amir family" where several artists including Ahmed Amir and Ibrahim Amir were brought up and "ruled" the music industry. She made her career debut with the album ''Hiyy Fahi'' where she lent her voice for eleven songs in the album. This resulted in her receiving several offers from music directors and producers to sing for their films and albums before making her breakthrough with her "high-pitched" rendition of the songs in the 1994 released film '' Dheriyaa''. Her duets with Ali Rameez are well noted in the industry and maximum duets with Rameez are recorded by Amir. In 1998, the Government of Maldives honoured her with the National Award of Recognition. Mohamed Rashad
Mohamed Rashad (1952 – 2002) also referred as Madhaha Rashad was a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Rashad was born in 1952 in Male'. His father, Qasim Hussain was famously known for locals as "Naivaadhoo Kasim" and "Reendhoo Kasim". His mother, Hawwa Idhurees was a homemaker. He had one brother as a sibling and ten others as half-siblings including notable local artists, Ali Rameez, Ibrahim Rameez and Rafiyath Rameeza. At a very young age, persuaded by his "undying love for music", Rashad was accompanied by the music group "Maafannu Fiyaathoshi Club" to lift and transport their music instruments.
