Kudos (granola Bar)
Kudos was a milk chocolate granola cereal bar produced by Mars, Incorporated. When initially launched in 1986, there were three varieties: nutty fudge, chocolate chip, and peanut butter. The original formulation of the bar was much more candy bar-like with less focus on the granola, although the original intention was to offer a healthier candy bar alternative. The original slogan was "Kudos, I'm yours!" Mars, Incorporated, stated in a 2017 Facebook post that the bars had officially been discontinued. As of 2020, there were no plans to revive the product. Granola
Granola is a breakfast and snack food consisting of rolled oats, nuts, honey or other sweeteners such as brown sugar, and sometimes puffed rice, that is usually baked until crisp, toasted and golden brown. The mixture is stirred while baking to avoid burning and to maintain a loose breakfast cereal consistency. Dried fruit, such as raisins and dates, and confections such as chocolate are sometimes added. Granola is often eaten in combination with yogurt, honey, fresh fruit (such as bananas, strawberries or blueberries), milk or other forms of cereal. It also serves as a topping for various pastries, desserts or ice cream. Muesli is similar to granola, except that it is traditionally neither sweetened nor baked. Cereal Bars
A cereal is any grass cultivated for the edible components of its grain (botanically, a type of fruit called a caryopsis), composed of the endosperm, germ, and bran. Cereal grain crops are grown in greater quantities and provide more food energy worldwide than any other type of crop and are therefore staple crops. They include wheat, rye, oats, and barley. Edible grains from other plant families, such as buckwheat, quinoa and chia, are referred to as pseudocereals. In their unprocessed whole grain form, cereals are a rich source of vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fats, oils, and protein. When processed by the removal of the bran and germ the remaining endosperm is mostly carbohydrate.
