Kuching City Football Club or simply known as Kuching City is a professional football club based in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia that participates in the Malaysia Super League. It is the third professional football club based in the state of Sarawak. History In 2015, with the commencement of the People Football League introduced by the Football Association of Malaysia, the purpose of the league was to transform lower leagues in Malaysia and promote amateur football in all districts and states across Malaysia. Consequently, Kuching F.A. was founded alongside it to represent the district of Kuching in Sarawak. FAM Cup In the 2015–16 Liga Bolasepak Rakyat, Kuching won the inaugural edition after beating Padang Besar 3-1 at the Selayang Stadium. With the championship, Kuching got an automatic promotion into the 2017 Piala FAM. In their first season in FAM League, Kuching achieved 4th place in Group B, qualifying the team for the play-offs. Sarawak Stadium
Sarawak Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kuching, Malaysia. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 40,000 spectators. History It was built in 1995 for the 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship. The stadium is adjacent to the old stadium, the Sarawak State Stadium (''Stadium Negeri'') that was previously used to stage various tournaments and championship. The stadium is the home of Sarawak FA, a local council football team. However, due to damaged facilities and stadium renovation, Sarawak FA currently playing in the State Stadium until the renovation complete before the 2016 Sukma Games. 2019 Malaysia FAM Cup
The 2019 Malaysia M3 League was the 1st season of the Malaysia M3 League that replaced the former Malaysia FAM League. Establishment and format This season saw a revamp of the competition's format by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM). Announced earlier on 24 November 2018 by FAM deputy president Yusoff Mahadi, the format of the new season was outlined in a meeting by FAM's Local Competition Committee and were announced in a media statement on 19 December 2018. The format will be reverted to a straight knock-out tournament format (a format used before 2008), as opposed to the league format used since 2008. 64 teams competed for the FAM Cup, including 6 teams confirmed earlier to participate in the Malaysia FAM Cup, and teams promoted to the 2019 Malaysia Premier League.
