Kryvyi Rih Strikes (2022–present)
Russian forces have carried out a series of artillery fire and air raids on the city of Kryvyi Rih during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. 2022 attacks February On 24 February 2022, military warehouses of the 17th Heavy Mechanized Brigade (Ukraine), 17th Mechanized Brigade in Kryvyi Rih , near the Makulan microdistrict were ataccked. Kryvyi Rih
Kryvyi Rih ( ; , ), also known as Krivoy Rog ( ), is a city in central Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Kryvyi Rih Raion and its subordinate Kryvyi Rih urban hromada in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The city is part of the Kryvyi Rih Metropolitan Region. Its population is estimated at making it the seventh-most populous city in Ukraine and the second largest by area. Sofiivka, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Sofiivka (; ) is a rural settlement in Kryvyi Rih Raion, central Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Sofiivka settlement hromada, one of the ''hromadas'' of Ukraine. Population: Sofiivka is located on the banks of the Kamianka river, a right tributary of the Bazavluk in the basin of the Dnipro River. History Until 18 July 2020, Sofiivka was the administrative center of Sofiivka District. The ''raion'' was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast to seven. The area of Sofiivka Raion was merged into Kryvyi Rih Raion. Until 26 January 2024, Sofiivka was designated urban-type settlement. The Kh-55 (, also known as RKV-500; NATO reporting name: AS-15 "Kent") is a Soviet/Russian subsonic air-launched cruise missile, designed by MKB Raduga in the 1970s. It has a range of up to and can carry nuclear warheads. Kh-55 is launched exclusively from bomber aircraft and has spawned a number of conventionally armed variants mainly for tactical use, such as the Kh-65SE and Kh-SD, but only the Kh-555 appears to have been put into service.
