Krystian Nowak
Krystian Nowak (born 1 April 1994) is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Kazakh club Zhenis. Career Nowak signed a two-year contract with Scottish Premiership club Heart of Midlothian in August 2016. Nowak made his Hearts debut on 23 December against Dundee. He only played once after Craig Levein was appointed manager in September 2017, and he was allowed to leave in January 2018. Nowak signed for the League of Ireland Premier Division side Bohemian FC in February 2023. He scored his first goal for the club against Sligo Rovers in The Showgrounds. On 12 November 2023, Nowak scored an own goal in the 2023 FAI Cup Final, in a 3–1 defeat to Dublin rivals St Patrick's Athletic at the Aviva Stadium. Ełk (; former pl, Łek; german: Lyck; Old Prussian: ''Luks''; lt, Lukas), also spelled Elk in English, is a small city in northeastern Poland with 61,677 inhabitants as of December 2021. The Polish Cup in football ( pl, Puchar Polski w piłce nożnej ) is an elimination tournament for Polish football clubs, held continuously from 1950, and is the second most important national title in Polish football after the Ekstraklasa title. Aviva Stadium (also known as Lansdowne Road) is a sports stadium located in Dublin, Ireland, with a capacity for 51,700 spectators (all seated). The 2023 FAI Cup Final, known as the 2023 Sports Direct FAI Cup Final for sponsorship reasons, was the final match of the 2023 FAI Cup, the national association football cup of the Republic of Ireland. The match took place on Sunday 12 November at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, between Bohemians and St Patrick's Athletic. An own goal, also called a self goal, is where a player performs actions that result in them or their team scoring a goal on themselves, often resulting in a point for the opposing team, such as when a football player kicks a ball into their own net or goal, awarding the other team a point. In some parts of the world, the term has become a metaphor for ''any'' action that backfires on the person or group undertaking it, sometimes even carrying a sense of "poetic justice". The Showgrounds, Sligo
The Showgrounds is a stadium in Sligo, which has been home of Sligo Rovers since Rovers were formed in 1928. Overview The Showgrounds was leased until 1968 when it was then purchased for Sligo Rovers by a trust foundation representing the people of Sligo. Under the terms of the purchase it can never be mortgaged, sold or used for any commercial purposes other than sport and leisure. The Showgrounds is a 12 acre (49,000 m²) site with the stadium capacity of 3,873 seats. On 8 November 1978 Sligo opened their new covered accommodation on the Jinks Avenue in a FAI League Cup semi final against Shamrock Rovers.
