Krynica is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Narewka, within Hajnówka County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland, close to the border with Belarus. A voivodeship (; pl, województwo ; plural: ) is the highest-level administrative division of Poland, corresponding to a province in many other countries. The term has been in use since the 14th century and is commonly translated into English as "province". The Polish local government reforms adopted in 1998, which went into effect on 1 January 1999, created sixteen new voivodeships. Podlaskie Voivodeship or Podlasie Province ( pl, Województwo podlaskie, ) is a voivodeship (province) in northeastern Poland. The name of the province and its territory correspond to the historic region of Podlachia. The capital and largest city is Białystok. __NOTOC__ Hajnówka County ( pl, powiat hajnowski) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Podlaskie Voivodeship, north-eastern Poland, on the border with Belarus. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and largest town is Hajnówka, which lies south-east of the regional capital Białystok. The only other town in the county is Kleszczele, lying south-west of Hajnówka. Narewka
Narewka ( be, На́раўка) is a village in eastern Poland, with its population estimated at 935 residents (as of 2011). It is located in Gmina Narewka, Hajnówka County, within Podlaskie Voivodeship. The village is located near Poland's border with Belarus. Many of its residents belong to Belarusian minority in Poland, Poland's Belarusian minority. The village has Polish Roman Catholic Church, Catholic and Belarusian Eastern Orthodox Church, Eastern Orthodox churches. It used to have a synagogue, but it was destroyed by the local Jewish population, angered after the Red Army, which had Soviet invasion of Poland (1939), invaded Poland in 1939, desecrated the synagogue by turning it into a storage building. Narewka's significant Jewish community eventually perished in the Holocaust and has not been restored. Hajnówka
Hajnówka (; be, Гайнаўка, ''Hajnaŭka''; uk, Гайнівка, ''Hainivka''; yi, האַדזשנאָװקאַ, ''Hachnovka''; russian: Хайнувка) is a town and a powiat seat in eastern Poland ( Podlaskie Voivodeship) with 21,442 inhabitants (2014).
