The Kromfohrländer is a modern German list of dog breeds, breed of companion dog. It originated in Germany in the years after the end of the Second World War. There are two coat types, a smooth-haired and a rough-haired. History The Kromfohrländer breed was created in the Siegerland region of North Rhine-Westphalia by Ilsa Schleifenbaum, a former concert pianist, in the years after the end of the Second World War. In 1945, during the Allied invasion of Germany, a young dog brought from France by American troops was lost or abandoned in the area of Hilchenbach, near Siegen. It was taken in by Schleifenbaum, who named it Peter; she believed it to be a Grand Griffon Vendéen. A chance dog reproduction, mating of this dog with a neighbour's dog, an elderly Pedigree dog, unpedigreed bitch of Fox Terrier type named Fiffi, gave rise to a litter of puppies which resembled each other much more closely than is usual in such cross-breeds, and were also unlike dogs of any other breed. ... Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen (VDH) is Germany's Kennel club for dogs and represents Germany in the world federation Fédération Cynologique Internationale. It is headquartered in Dortmund, Germany. As the country-wide controlling body, the VDH represents 167 member organizations with more than 650,000 members. In addition, there are over 250 different breeds of dog in the VDH. Fox Terrier
Fox Terriers are two different breeds of the terrier dog type: the Smooth Fox Terrier and the Wire Fox Terrier. Both of these breeds originated in the 19th century from a handful of dogs who are descended from earlier varieties of British terriers, and are related to other modern white terrier breeds. In addition, a number of breeds have diverged from these two main types of fox terrier and have been recognised separately, including the Jack Russell Terrier, Miniature Fox Terrier and Rat Terrier. The withers is the ridge between the shoulder blades of an animal, typically a quadruped. In many species, it is the tallest point of the body. A conformation show, also referred to as a ''breed show'', is a kind of dog show in which a judge, familiar with a specific dog breed, evaluates individual purebred dogs for how well the dogs ''conform'' to the established breed type for their breed, as described in a breed's individual breed standard. The Fédération cynologique internationale (FCI) (English: International Canine Federation) is the largest international federation of national kennel clubs. It is based in Thuin, Belgium. History The FCI was founded in 1911 under the auspices of the kennel clubs of Austria, Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands, its objective was to bring global uniformity to the breeding, exhibiting and judging of pure-bred dogs.
