Krišjānis Kariņš
Arturs Krišjānis Kariņš (born 13 December 1964) is an American-Latvian politician who has served as the Prime Minister of Latvia since 2019. A linguist and businessperson by profession, he previously served as Latvia's Minister of Economics and a Member of the European Parliament. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, United States, to parents who had left Latvia during the Soviet occupation, he was active in the American Latvian community throughout his youth. After graduating with a bachelor's degree '' summa cum laude'' and PhD in linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania, Kariņš moved to Latvia in 1997 and founded a frozen food business. He helped found the New Era Party in 2002, which in 2011 merged with others to form the Unity Party (renamed New Unity in 2018). Krišjānis Zeļģis
Krišjānis Zeļģis (born 22 July 1985) is a Latvian poet and brewer. Biography Krišjānis Zeļģis was born in Talsi in what was then the Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic, but today is Latvia. After finishing school he studied library science at the University of Latvia and worked as a light technician at the Latvian National Theatre. He has also had a variety of other jobs including picking grapes on a vineyard in France, and working as a builder on a stadium in Mexico. He later studied in the faculty of Geography and Land Sciences at the University of Latvia, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Earth Science. Currently he is a brewer, and co-owner, at the Latvian brewery Malduguns. His poetry started to be published in different journals and online in 2001. His debut poetry book "Visas tās lietas" ("All Those Things") was published in 2010 and was nominated for a "Diena" annual culture prize and as a best debut in Latvian literature prize. Krišjānis Tūtāns (born 13 April 1983) is a windsurfing celebrity from Latvia, who entered the sport at the age of 13. His father Uldis Tūtāns was one of the windsurfing pioneers in Latvia, and under his influence the whole family became involved with windsurfing. Krišjānis's sister Gundega Tūtāne is one of the best Latvian female windsurfers in wave class. Competitions Krišjānis Tūtāns participated at his first competition in 1995. Since then he has taken part in slalom and course windsurfing classes. Tūtāns has won the following: *2004 – Latvian Olympic games, 1st place (formula windsurfing), *2005 – Neilpryde Baltic Cup overall (Lithuania, Latvia, Finland, Estonia), 4th place (formula windsurfing.)
