Kristján Einar Kristjánsson (born 8 January 1989) is an Icelandic racing driver. He started racing in karts at 14, the age when Icelandic law allows drivers to start racing karts. He is the first ever driver to emerge from Icelandic motorsport (karting) into full international formula racing series. Karting career Kristján Einar was born in Garðabær. Kristján Örn Sigurðsson (often spelled Sigurdsson; born 7 October 1980 in Akureyri) is an Icelandic footballer who is a player-assistant manager for Þór. Club career He started his career at his local club ÍF Völsungur Húsavik, and moved to Stoke City in England as a teenager. Failing to grab a place on the first team, he returned to Iceland to play for KR. After the 2004 season he moved to SK Brann in Bergen, Norway where he plays as a defender. He showed acceptable defensive skills, but clear weaknesses in his passing game and general offensive play from his right back position. Before the 2006 season, Kristján was moved into the central defence, after both Ragnvald Soma and Paul Scharner were sold after the 2005 season. Kristján Eldjárn
Kristján Eldjárn (; 6 December 1916 – 14 September 1982) was the third president of Iceland, from 1968 to 1980. Biography Kristján was born in Tjörn, Svarfaðardal, Iceland. His parents were Þórarinn Kr. Eldjárn, a teacher in Tjörn, and Sigrún Sigurhjartardóttir. He graduated in archaeology from the University of Copenhagen and taught at the University of Iceland. In 1957 he was awarded a doctorate for his research into pagan burials in Iceland. He was a teacher at the Akureyri Grammar School and the College of Navigation in Reykjavík, becoming a curator at the National Museum of Iceland in 1945 and its Director in 1947, a position he held until the 1968 presidential election. In 1966–68 he hosted a series of educational TV programs on the (then new) Icelandic National Television (RÚV), in which he showed the audience some of the National Museum's artefacts and explained their historical context. Kristján Jóhannsson (born 24 May 1948 in Akureyri, Iceland) is an Icelandic operatic tenor particularly known for his performances in Verdian roles, and especially as Radames in ''Aida''. Biography Although Kristján was born into a musical family, he did not begin his musical studies until he was twenty years old, first at the College of Music in his native city under Sigurdur Demetz. He then went to Italy to pursue additional vocal training at the Conservatorio Nicolini in Piacenza under Gianni Poggi, as well as studying privately with Ettore Campogalliani and Ferruccio Tagliavini. Kristján Jónsson (4 March 1852 – 2 July 1926) was minister for Iceland from 14 March 1911 to 24 July 1912. He was a member of Althingi 1893 to 1905 and from 1908 to 1913. Biography He was born on the farm Gautlönd in north east Iceland and two of his brothers became politicians, Pétur (28 August 1858 – 20 January 1922, member of Althingi 1894–1922, minister of Industrial Affairs 1920–1922) and Steingrímur (27 December 1867 – 29 December 1956, member of Althingi 1906–1915). Kristján Gauti Emilsson (born 26 April 1993) is an Icelandic footballer who plays as a forward. Career In 2009, Kristján made his debut for FH Hafnarfjörður in the highest Icelandic league. After an internship with Liverpool, he signed a three-year deal with the club and played in the youth academy until mid 2012. He returned to this former team where he made his real break through. On 23 July 2014, it was announced that Kristján had signed a three-year deal with Dutch Eerste Divisie side NEC. In January 2016, Emilsson ended his professional career because of personal reasons. Kristján Guðmundsson (born 1941, Snæfellsnes, Iceland) is a contemporary Icelandic conceptual artist. He started his career as an artist in the 1960s as a member of ''SÚM'' - a group of young artists influenced by then-new currents in conceptual and installation art. He lived in the Netherlands in the 1970s where he received a Dutch stipend. There he came into more direct contact with the international avant-garde. In 1977, he was one of four Icelanders invited to exhibit in the new-opened Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, France. He moved back to Iceland in 1979. Kristján's art reflects both prevailing traditions in late 20th century western art in general, and the dominance of abstract and conceptual art in the post-war art of Iceland in particular.
