Kristin Olsen
Kristin Olsen (born January 19, 1974) is an American business owner and politician. She served on the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors from 2017 to 2021. From 2010 to 2016 she served in the California State Assembly representing the 12th district and serving as the Assembly Minority Leader. Prior to being elected to the State Assembly, she was a member of the Modesto City Council. Olsen is a Republican and lives in Riverbank. California State University, Stanislaus (Stanislaus State, Stan State) is a public university in Turlock, Stanislaus County, California. It is part of the California State University system. It was established in 1957 and is also the only campus in the system to offer a bachelor's degree in cognitive studies. Anthony Portantino
Anthony J. Portantino (born January 29, 1961) is an American politician currently serving in the California State Senate. A Democrat, he represents the 25th Senate District which encompasses portions of the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys. Portantino was a member of the California State Assembly from 2006 to 2012, representing the 44th Assembly District. Portantino has a history of blocking efforts to increase housing production in California. In 2019, he used a pocket veto to block the California Senate from considering SB 50, which would have allowed for denser housing construction near public transit. In 2021, he killed a bill that would have ended minimum parking requirements for some new housing near transit stations.
