Kristin Jones
Kristin Jones (born August 1, 1956 in Washington, D.C.) is an American artist. She is best known for her collaborative, large scale public art projects, installations and exhibitions in museums and galleries internationally. Career Kristin Jones maintains both studio and public practices creating site-specific, time-based projects that work within the context of an environment and its natural phenomena. Working collaboratively across disciplines and media, she creates installations, works on and paper, and time-lapse photography. After living in Rome for sixteen years, Jones began work on TEVERETERNO, an ambitious large-scale collaboration with a multitude of artists, Roman colleagues, and with the City itself. The Museo di Roma is a museum in Rome, Italy, part of the network of Roman civic museums. Yaddo is an artists' community located on a estate in Saratoga Springs, New York. Its mission is "to nurture the creative process by providing an opportunity for artists to work without interruption in a supportive environment.". On March 11, 2013 it was designated a National Historic Landmark. It offers residencies to artists working in choreography, film, literature, musical composition, painting, performance art, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video. The Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation
The Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation was founded in 1918 by Louis Comfort Tiffany to operate his estate, Laurelton Hall, in Cold Spring Harbor, New York, Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island. It was designed to be a summer retreat for artists and craftspeople. In 1946 the estate closed and the foundation changed its purpose from a retreat to the bestowing of grants to artists. Pollock-Krasner Foundation
The Pollock-Krasner Foundation was established in 1985 for the purpose of providing financial assistance to individual working artists of established ability. It was established at the bequest of Lee Krasner, who was an American abstract expressionist painter and the widow of fellow painter Jackson Pollock. Krasner left approximately $23 million in cash, securities, and art to the foundation. Activities The foundation provides grants to artists internationally based on "recognizable artistic merit and demonstrable financial need". The foundation also gives out Lee Krasner Awards. These awards are based on the same criteria as grants but also recognize a lifetime of artistic achievement and are by nomination only. The American Academy in Rome is a research and arts institution located on the Gianicolo (Janiculum Hill) in Rome. The academy is a member of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers.
