Krishna-Godavari Diocese is a diocese of Church of South India in Andhra Pradesh state of India. The diocese is one among the 22 dioceses of Church of South India. About The diocese covers the Krishna Godavari areas of Andhra Pradesh state. The headquarters of the diocese is at Machilipatnam.The Krishna-Godavari diocese is one of the largest diocese in Andhra Pradesh extending from Ongole District in the south through Srikakulam District in the northern part of Andhra Pradesh. The current bishop of the diocese is T. George Cornelius who is the new bishop of K.G.Diocese Church of South India. Machilipatnam (), also known as Masulipatnam and Bandar, is a city in Krishna district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a municipal corporation and the administrative headquarters of Krishna district. Vedanayagam Samuel Azariah
Bishop Vedanayagam Samuel Azariah (17 August 1874 – 1 January 1945) (also transliterated as Vedanayakam Samuel Azariah) was an Indian evangelist and the first Indian bishop in the churches of the Anglican Communion, serving as the first bishop of the diocese of Dornakal. A pioneer of Christian ecumenism in India, Azariah had a complex relationship with Mahatma Gandhi, who at least once called him postcolonial Indians' "Enemy Number One." Bishop Yeddu Muthyalu ''(Yeddy Muthyalu)'' (died 1954) was the first Bishop - in - Krishna-Godavari Diocese of the Church of South India who was consecrated in 1947 at the St. George's Cathedral, Chennai along with thirteen other Bishops.
