Kris M. Balderston
Kris M. Balderston is General Manager of the FleishmanHillard Washington, DC office. His career has included work for the White House, U.S. Senate, and State Department. Previously, he served as the Secretary's Special Representative for Global Partnerships and managed the Global Partnership Initiative in the Office of the Secretary of State. Prior to his role at the United States Department of State, Balderston was Senator Hillary Clinton's first legislative director in January 2001, before serving as her Deputy Chief of Staff from 2002 to 2009. The kris, or ''keris'' in the Indonesian language, is an asymmetrical dagger with distinctive blade-patterning achieved through alternating laminations of iron and nickelous iron (''pamor''). Of Javanese origin, the kris is famous for its distinctive wavy blade, although many have straight blades as well, and is one of the weapons commonly used in the '' pencak silat'' martial art native to Indonesia. White House
The White House is the official residence and workplace of the president of the United States. It is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C., and has been the residence of every U.S. president since John Adams in 1800. The term "White House" is often used as a metonym for the president and his advisers. The residence was designed by Irish-born architect James Hoban in the neoclassical style.
