Kring Point State Park
Kring Point State Park is a state park located on the St. Lawrence River in the Town of Alexandria in Jefferson County, New York. The park is north of Alexandria Bay near the St. Lawrence County line and is connected to NY 12 by Kring Point Road. The park was established in 1898 as part of the St. Lawrence Reservation. Open from the last Friday in April through Columbus Day, the park offers a beach, a playground, picnic tables and pavilions, recreation programs, a nature trail, showers, fishing and hunting, a boat launch, a dump station, a campground for tents and trailers, cabins and cross-country skiing. Redwood, New York
Redwood is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 605. Geography Redwood is located at (44.300703, -75.800489) in the eastern part of the town of Alexandria. The community is bordered to the southeast by the town of Theresa. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , of which are land and , or 20.89%, are water. Mud Lake is in the southern part of the CDP, and the southwest end of Butterfield Lake is in the eastern part. Redwood is located on New York State Route 37 at the junction of County Roads 3 and 192. Alexandria Bay, New York
Alexandria Bay is a village in Jefferson County, New York, United States, within the town of Alexandria. It is located in the Thousand Islands region of northern New York. The population of the village was 1,078 at the 2010 United States Census. It lies near the Thousand Islands Border Crossing of Canada and the United States. History Settlement began around 1817. By 1836, the community had about 25 dwellings. The George C. Boldt Yacht House, Church of Saint Lawrence, Cornwall Brothers' Store, Holland Library, Ingleside, and Longue Vue Island are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Alexandria, New York
Alexandria is a town in the Thousand Islands region of the U.S. state of New York, within Jefferson County. The town's population was 4,061 at the 2010 United States Census. The town is named after Alexander LeRay, the son of an early developer. The village of Alexandria Bay is within the town. Alexandria is in the northern part of the county and is north of Watertown. History The first settlement occurred at Alexandria Center around 1811. The Battle of Cranberry Creek, during the War of 1812, was a minor engagement in which local forces defeated a much larger group of British soldiers and sailors who attempted to regain supplies and provisions taken by the Americans.
