Krantz Films
Krantz Films, Inc. (KFI) was a Canadian production company headed by American film producer Steve Krantz. From 1966 to 1974, it produced animated cartoon shows such as ''The Marvel Super Heroes'', ''Rocket Robin Hood'', ''Spider-Man'', ''The Wonderful Stories of Professor Kitzel'', and ''Max, the 2000-Year-Old Mouse''. It also produced the films ''Fritz the Cat'', ''Heavy Traffic'', ''The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat'' and ''Cooley High'', and many live-action television shows in Canada and Japan: ''The Space Giants'' in 1970, '' The Weaker(?) Sex'' in 1968 and many more. Steve Krantz
Stephen Falk Krantz (May 20, 1923 – January 4, 2007) was a film producer and writer, most active from 1966 to 1996. Career Born in Brooklyn, New York City, Krantz graduated from Columbia University and went on to serve in the U.S. Army Air Forces in the Pacific during World War II as a second lieutenant. He worked as a comedy writer for Milton Berle and Steve Allen. His later years were devoted to the production of animated cartoons in Canada. After firing Shamus Culhane from the animator's supervising director job on ''Rocket Robin Hood'', director Ralph Bakshi and background artist Johnnie Vita were brought to Toronto, not knowing that Krantz and producer Al Guest were in the middle of a lawsuit. Failing to reach a settlement with Guest, Krantz told Bakshi to grab the series' model sheets and return to the United States. is a Japanese production company, which has produced anime and tokusatsu television programs, with minor work in motion pictures. It was founded in 1960 by the late TV producer Tomio Sagisu (also known as Soji Ushio). The company exists today as a stockholder. Perhaps their most famous creations are Osamu Tezuka's '' Ambassador Magma'', one of the first tokusatsu series dubbed into English and aired in the United States, and the three series that make up the unique ''Lion-Maru'' franchise, featuring anthropomorphic lion samurai battling evil in feudal Japan. is the title and protagonist of a manga and tokusatsu TV series created by Osamu Tezuka. The TV series, produced by P Productions, Norway Productions and Krantz Films, was aired on Fuji TV from July 4, 1966, to June 26, 1967, lasting a total of 52 episodes. It is the first color tokusatsu TV series in Japan, beating Tsuburaya Productions' ''Ultraman'' to the air by six days. The show later aired in the US, dubbed in English, as ''The Space Giants''. ''Strange Paradise'' is a Canadian occult-supernatural soap opera of 195 episodes, initially launched in syndication in the United States on September 8, 1969, and later broadcast on CBC Television from October 20, 1969, to July 22, 1970. The production was the brainchild of producer Steve Krantz, in an attempt to capitalize on the phenomenal success of ABC's daytime serial ''Dark Shadows'' in America. Grantray-Lawrence Animation
Grantray-Lawrence Animation was an animation studio active from 1954 to 1968 and founded by Grant Simmons, Ray Patterson (hence "Grant-Ray"), and Robert L. Lawrence. This animation company produced commercials and low-budget animated television shows until it went bankrupt in 1968 and its distributor, Krantz Films, took over production. The best-known of those animated shows are its adaptations of superheroes from Marvel Comics, the earliest such adaptations for electronic media. Before then, it did sub-contracted work on ''Top Cat'', ''The Jetsons'', ''The Dick Tracy Show'', and '' The Famous Adventures of Mr. Magoo''. ''The Weaker(?) Sex'' is a Canadian talk show television series which aired on CBC Television from 1968 to 1969. Premise British presenter Pamela Mason hosted the initial 13-week run of this series in which she interviewed male guests with one exception ( Judy LaMarsh). She was sometimes accompanied by Jim Fleming, a broadcaster who later became a federal cabinet minister. These episodes were coproductions between the CBC in Toronto and Krantz Films in New York.
