Kozo Arai
is a former Japanese footballer. He played for Japan national team. Club career Arai was born in Etajima on October 24, 1950. After graduating from high school, he joined Furukawa Electric in 1969. In 1976, the club won Japan Soccer League and Emperor's Cup. The club also won 1977 JSL Cup. He retired in 1978. He played 124 games and scored 17 goals in the league. He was selected Best Eleven 4 times (1971, 1973, 1974 and 1976). National team career In December 1970, Arai was selected Japan national team for 1970 Asian Games. At this competition, on December 10, he debuted against Malaysia. He also played at 1974 Asian Games, 1972 Summer Olympics qualification, 1974 World Cup qualification and 1976 Summer Olympics qualification. He played 47 games and scored 4 goals for Japan until 1977. Etajima, Hiroshima
is a city (formerly a town) located on the island of Etajima in Hiroshima Bay in southwestern Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. The modern city of Etajima was established on November 1, 2004, from the merger of the town of Etajima (from Aki District) absorbing three towns from Saeki District: Nōmi, Ōgaki, and Okimi. As of December 31, 2016, population data, the city has an estimated population of 24,596 and a population density of 240 persons per km². The total area is 100.97 km². A naval museum and the Naval Academy Etajima is located in the portion of the city that was the town. Etajima holds two annual marathons, the Orange Marathon and the Oyster Marathon. 1972 Japan Soccer League
The 1972 season in Japanese football introduced a Second Division to the Japan Soccer League. Nine clubs were chosen from the 1971 Japanese Regional Leagues; when Nagoya Mutual Bank resigned from the League, a tenth club was chosen from the Kansai League. League tables JSL First Division No relegation took place as the First Division was being expanded to 10 clubs. JSL Second Division Toyota Motors, later one of the Japanese big names as Nagoya Grampus, was crowned the inaugural Second Division champion. Tanabe Pharmaceutical, a club from Osaka, followed them into the expanded 10-team First Division. No relegations took place, to keep the Second Division at 10 clubs.
