Koyil Kaalai
''Koyil Kaalai'' () is a 1993 Indian Tamil-language action drama film, co-produced and directed by Gangai Amaran. The film stars Vijayakanth, Kanaka, Sujatha and Veera Pandiyan. The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja who co-produced the film. It was released on 14 January 1993. Plot Abandoned on the temple doorstep, Uppili grows up to be a sort of caretaker of the temple premises, doing odd jobs. His attitude often brings him into conflict with a moneyed-man Sundaralingam who tries to misuse temple lands leased out to him. Enters Arasayi, the fire-spitting lass who ends up marrying Uppili. She is daughter of the very man Murugesan whom Uppili caught red-handed stealing temple jewels. While facts distorted, Arasayi believes Uppili to be the culprit and had come with the intention of having her revenge. Gangai Amaran
Gangai Amaran is an Indian music composer, singer, lyricist, writer, film director and actor in Tamil films. Personal life Gangai Amaran was born in Pannaipuram in Theni district, Tamil Nadu in December 1947, as the youngest son of Daniel Ramaswamy and Chinnathayi. He is the younger brother of noted music director Ilaiyaraaja and father of director and actor Venkat Prabhu and actor, composer and singer Premji Amaren. He had two more elder brothers, R. D. Bhaskar and Pavalar Varadharajan, both who died long back. Composers Karthik Raja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, singer Bhavatharini and costume designer Vasuki Bhaskar are his relations. Periya Karuppu Thevar
Periya Karuppa Thevar (1936 - 18 September 2012) was a Tamil film character artiste and folk singer who appeared in Tamil-language films. Film career PKT was part of the drama troupe floated by veteran Sankaradoss Swamigal more than fifty years ago. Like many actors of his era, he had made the grade to films as an actor after toiling hard on stage where he used to be quite popular for his acting as well as in singing many folk songs. His film career has spanned many decades in which he had starred in more than 200 films including a memorable role in Bharathiraaja's Mann Vasanai and in Gangai Amaren's Karagattakkaran which had memorable songs by Ilaiyaraaja. ''Kalki'' is a Tamil language, Tamil-language Weekly (news magazine), weekly magazine published from Chennai, India. The magazine was established by Kalki Krishnamurthy, a popular Tamil language, Tamil novelist and Indian freedom fighter, in 1941. Kalki Sadasivam, T Sadasivam was the magazine's co-founder.
