Matěj Kovář
Matěj Kovář (born 17 May 2000) is a Czech professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Sparta Prague, on loan from club Manchester United. Kovář joined the Manchester United youth system in 2018 from Czech club 1. FC Slovácko. He has spent time on loan at Swindon Town, where he made his senior debut, and Burton Albion. A Czech youth international, Kovář has represented his country from under-18 to under-21 level. Club career Kovář began his career with 1. FC Slovácko in his native Czech Republic, but moved to England to join Manchester United in January 2018 at the age of 17. Jan Kovář
Jan Kovář (born 20 March 1990) is Czech professional ice hockey forward who currently serves as captain of EV Zug of the National League (NL). He is the younger brother of Jakub Kovář. Playing career He made his professional debut with HC Plzeň in the Czech Extraliga during the 2008–09 season. Before moving to Russia for the 2013–14 KHL season in signing for Metallurg Magnitogorsk and claiming the Gagarin Cup. Playing within the Czech national team he advanced to the semi finals before being knocked out. In the bronze medal playoff, he scored against Canada, but the team could not win. As an undrafted free agent after five seasons in the KHL with Magnitogorsk, Kovář signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the New York Islanders, his first team in the NHL on 9 July 2018. Karel Kovář is a former Czechoslovak figure skater of Slovak origin, now a figure skating coach in the United States. Career After having a short solo career, he joined his sister Dagmar Kovářová in pairs. He relocated to Bratislava to train with coach Agnesa Búřilová. Kovář and Kovářová participated in the European Championships in Prague in 1988, where they finished in the last, 11th place. In 1986–87 and 1987–88 seasons, they finished second in the Czechoslovak figure skating championships behind René Novotný and Lenka Knapová. Two years later he participated in the 1990 European Championships joining Soviet Union's Svetlana Dragaeva in a mixed-nation couple (some sources identify them as competing under the flag of ISU), finishing 13th. Zdeněk Kovář
Zdeněk Kovář (26 January 1917, in Vsetín – 21 June 2004, in Zlín) was a renowned Czech industrial designer. Life Kovář trained as a shoemaker in Baťa's factory in Zlín, then as locksmith and later as engineer. He studied under prominent Czech sculptor Vincenc Makovský at Zlín's Art School from 1939 where he became interested in industrial design. He graduated there in 1943. He continued to work at Zlín for Baťa creating body designs for vertical drilling machines. In 1947 he founded an industrial design studio in the Zlín Technical College. From 1959 he taught at the Institute of Arts & Crafts in Prague. Kovář was also a sculptor. His industrial designs involved projects for scissor and tool handles, lever door handles, sewing machines, lathes, typewriters, film projectors, record players. Jakub Kovář (born 19 July 1988) is a Czech professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently playing for HC Sparta Praha in the Czech Extraliga. He was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 4th round (109th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He is the older brother of Jan Kovář.
