Koushik Sarkar
Koushik Sarkar (born 8 February 1994) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a defender for I-League club Delhi. Career Early career Born in Chinsurah, West Bengal, Sarkar joined the Sports Authority of India in 2010. He spent three seasons there before signing with the Calcutta Football League, Kalighat Milan Sangha. He made one appearance with them before returning to the Sports Authority of India. Sarkar captained the University of Calcutta football side during the Inter-University challenge. While with the university side, Sarkar attracted interest through two good performances against I-League side, Mohun Bagan. East Bengal On 6 December 2015 it was announced that Sarkar had signed a three-year contract with East Bengal of the I-League. Chinsurah
Hugli-Chuchura or Hooghly-Chinsurah is a city and a municipality of Hooghly district in the Indian States and territories of India, state of West Bengal. Kalighat is a locality of Kolkata, in Kolkata district, West Bengal, India. Football At The South Asian Games
Football has been a sport at the South Asian Games since it commenced in 1984. Since the 2004 South Asian Games, the age limit for men's teams is under 23, plus up to three overaged players for each squad, which is the same as the age limit in football competitions at the Summer Olympics and Asian Games. Nepal and Pakistan are currently the most successful countries in the Men's event with 4 Gold Medals each while India is the most successful in Women's event with 3 Gold Medals. The South Asian Football Federation Championship, commonly known as SAFF Championship (previously known as ''South Asian Association of Regional Co-operation Gold Cup'' and ''South Asian Football Federation Gold Cup''), is the main international association football competition of the men's national football teams governed by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). The 2015–16 I-League was the ninth season of the I-League, the Indian professional football league, since its establishment in 2007. The Asian Football Confederation is the governing body of association football, beach soccer, and futsal in some countries/territories in Asia and Oceania. 2015 SAFF Championship
The 2015 SAFF Championship (officially known as the SAFF Suzuki Cup 2015 for sponsorship reasons) was the 11th edition of the SAFF Championship, the biennial international men's football championship of South Asia organized by SAFF. It was held in India from 23 December 2015 to 3 January 2016. Heading into the tournament, Afghanistan were the defending champions of the tournament, with it also being the last time they can officially take part, as they have become members of the newly formed Central Asian Football Association. Stephen Constantine (born 16 October 1962) is an English professional football coach and former player who is head coach of Indian Super League club East Bengal. Early and personal life Constantine was born on 16 October 1962 in London. He is of Greek-Cypriot descent. He is a fan of English club Arsenal. 2016–17 I-League
The 2016–17 I-League was the 10th season of the I-League, the top Indian professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 2007. The season began on 7 January 2017 and concluded on 30 April 2017. Aizawl won their first title on the final day after securing a draw against Shillong Lajong on 30 April 2017. Defending champions Bengaluru FC finished in the fourth place. Dempo had entered the league after being promoted from the I-League 2nd Division but withdrew from the league along with Salgaocar and Sporting Goa.
