Kourtiagou Reserve
Kourtiagou Reserve is a partial reserve in Burkina Faso. Established in 1957 it is located in Tapoa Province and covers an area of 510 km. Its name stems from the river Kourtiagou which is the western border of the reserve. In the East it is divided from the W National Park by the road R7 from Tansarga to Banikoara. The southern border is the national border to Benin. W National Park
The W National Park (french: Parc national du W) or W Regional Park (french: W du Niger, links=no) is a major national park in West Africa around a meander in the River Niger shaped like the letter W (french: double v, links=no). The park includes areas of the three countries Niger, Benin and Burkina Faso, and is governed by the three governments. Until 2008, the implementation of a regional management was supported by the EU-funded project ECOPAS (Protected Ecosystems in Sudano-Sahelian Africa, french: Ecosystèmes protégés en Afrique soudano-sahélienne). Protection is any measure taken to guard a thing against damage caused by outside forces.
