Kottoi Station
is a JR West railway station located in Shimonoseki city, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. People who disembark at Kottoi Station can take a 20-minute bus ride to Tsunoshima via the Tsunoshima Bridge, a bridge that joins Tsunoshima to the mainland at Hōhoku Town. It was the longest toll free bridge in Japan when it was completed on November 3, 2000. Station layout Kottoi Station is housed in its original wooden-framed station building. It is a one-track, single platform station. Because of this single line structure, trains bound for Nagatoshi Station as well as Kogushi Station stop at the same platform. Previously the platform had a side track, allowing trains that were traveling in different directions to pass one another, however this was discontinued in 1970. Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi
is a city located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. With a population of 265,684, it is the largest city in Yamaguchi Prefecture and the fifth-largest city in the Chūgoku region. Takibe Station
is a JR West San'in Main Line railway station located in Hōhoku, Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. It is one of the stations on the Misuzu Shiosai Experience, which takes place on certain trains during the day between Nagatoshi and Hatabu. Station layout The station was originally designed as a single entry station capable of serving three tracks across two platforms, however the third track was withdrawn and separated from the mainline, leaving just the two tracks. For that reason, the station layout was set so that trains travelling in each direction would stop at their respective platforms.
