''Kottappurathe Koottukudumbam'' () is a 1997 Indian Malayalam-language comedy-drama film directed by Pappan Naripatta and starring Vijayaraghavan and Urvashi in the lead roles. It is a remake of the 1991 Tamil film ''Pondatti Sonna Kettukanum''. Plot A poor couple get their son married to a woman who is rich because of their ambitions of becoming wealthy. Janardhanan Nair (born 5 May 1946) is an Indian actor, producer and a former Indian Airforce personnel who predominantly acts in Malayalam films. He acted in his first feature film '' Adyathe Kadha'', directed by K. S. Sethumadhavan in 1971, he acted in more than 700 films. He started his career when Malayalam films were made in black and white. He is known for his style of handling humour and his iconic voice. Pradip Somasundaran (born 26 January 1967), is an Indian playback singer, who sang around 100 songs in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi languages. He is also a college principal by profession. Early life Pradip Somasundaran was born on 26 January 1967 in Nelluvaya, Thrissur district of Kerala. His parents are Somasundaran and Santha. He was initially trained in carnatic music under Geetha Rani and later under V. Gopalan of Thrissur, and started giving stage performances at the age of sixteen.
