Kotochitose
Kotochitose Kosei (born 22 April 1957 as Minoru Yamamoto) is a former sumo wrestler from Chitose, Hokkaidō, Japan. He made his professional debut in July 1971 and reached the top division in May 1981. His highest rank was '' maegashira'' 5. He retired from active competition in July 1986. List Of Sumo Tournament Second Division Champions
This is a list of wrestlers who have won the sumo second division ''jūryō'' championship since 1909, when the current championship system was established. These official tournaments are held exclusively in Japan. The wrestler who has won the most ''jūryō'' championships is Masurao, with five. Wakanami, Tagaryū and Terunofuji are the only wrestlers to have won a ''jūryō'' championship ''after'' winning a top division or ''makuuchi'' title. Sadogatake Stable
is a Heya (sumo), stable of sumo wrestlers, one of the Nishonoseki group of stables. In its modern form, it dates from September 1955, when it was set up by former ''komusubi'' Kotonishiki Noboru. Former ''yokozuna (sumo), yokozuna'' Kotozakura took over the running of the stable in 1974 following Kotonishiki's death. The stable is located in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture, Chiba prefecture. Over the next thirty years the stable produced a string of top division wrestlers. Kotozakura stood down in November 2005, handing the stable over to his son-in-law, former ''sekiwake'' Kotonowaka. Between September 2007 and July 2010, it became the first stable since Fujishima stable (2010), Musashigawa stable in 2001 to have two wrestlers ranked at ''Makuuchi#Ōzeki, ōzeki'' simultaneously, with Kotomitsuki and Kotoōshū. Sumo
is a form of competitive full-contact wrestling where a ''rikishi'' (wrestler) attempts to force his opponent out of a circular ring (''dohyō'') or into touching the ground with any body part other than the soles of his feet (usually by throwing, shoving or pushing him down). Sumo originated in Japan, the only country where it is practiced professionally and where it is considered the national sport. It is considered a ''gendai budō'', which refers to modern Japanese martial arts, but the sport has a history spanning many centuries. Chitose, Hokkaidō
is a city located in Ishikari Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan, and home to the New Chitose Airport, the biggest international airport in Hokkaido and closest airport to Sapporo, as well as the neighboring Chitose Air Base.
