Qutb
Qutb, Qutub, Kutb, Kutub or Kotb ( ar, قطب), means 'axis', 'pivot' or 'pole'. Qutb can refer to celestial movements and be used as an astronomical term or a spiritual symbol. In Sufism, a Qutb is the perfect human being, ''al-Insān al-Kāmil'' ('The Universal Man'), who leads the saintly hierarchy. The Qutb is the Sufi spiritual leader that has a divine connection with God and passes knowledge on which makes him central to, or the axis of, Sufism, but he is unknown to the world. There are five Qutbs per era, and they are infallible and trusted spiritual leaders. They are only revealed to a select group of mystics because there is a "human need for direct knowledge of God". Ahmed Kotb ( ar, احمد قطب) (born 23 July 1991), or Ahmed El-Kotb, is an Egyptian indoor volleyball player. Since 2008 he is a member of the Egypt men's national volleyball team, where he goes by the nickname Kotb. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2014 World Championships. Heba Kotb ( ar, هبة قطب; born September 19, 1967) is an Egyptian certified sex therapist and host of ''The Big Talk'', a sexual advice show airing in Egypt. The first licensed sexologist in the country, Kotb bases her methods on the teachings of the Qur'an, which she says encourages healthy sexual relationships between husband and wife. She has been called: "Egypt's Dr. Ruth." Early life and education Born and raised in Egypt, Kotb grew up wanting to be a surgeon. She has three children. She attended medical school at Cairo University, writing a thesis entitled "Medicolegal Implications of Sexually Transmitted Diseases in Sexually abused Children." While writing her thesis, she realized that she had very little idea about normal sexuality. Early life Kotb was born in Norman, Oklahoma, and grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia, and Alexandria, Virginia. She lived in New Orleans throughout the 1990s. Kotb's parents are from Egypt.
