Kostas Skandalidis
Kostas Skandalidis ( el, Κώστας Σκανδαλίδης; born 11 January 1953) is a Greek politician and member of the Greek Parliament for the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) for the Athens A constituency. Life M.P. Kostas Skandalidis was born in 1953 in Kos, Greece. He is the son of the priest, Papa-Giorgis and Christina Skandalidi. He graduated from the National Technical University of Athens with a degree in electrical engineering. In 1974 he became a founding member of the PA.SO.K., and has since then elected as a member of the Hellenic Parliament in all general elections since 1989, initially for the Dodecanese and from 2000 in the Athens A constituency. He was elected secretary of the Central Committee of the PA.SO.K. three times between 11 October 1995 and 22 October 2001. M.P. 2006 Greek Local Elections
The 2006 Greek local elections elected representatives to Greece's 3 super-prefectures, 54 prefectures, provinces, and approximately 1,033 communities and municipalities. The elections took place on Sunday, 15 October 2006 from 7am to 7pm. According to the New Code for Municipalities and Communities, a platform gains the absolute majority of the seats if it has more than 42% of the votes. If no platform achieves that, then there is a second round, one week later. The ballot in the second round includes the two platforms which garnered the most votes in the 1st week. Traditionally, candidates at local elections do not run under the official name of the party they belong, but form electoral platforms with different names for the purpose. Vasso Papandreou
Vasso Papandreou (born 31 July 1944 in Valimitika) is a Greek politician. After being in exile during the rule of the Greek junta, she returned to Greece in 1974 and was a founding member of PASOK. In 1981 she was awarded a PhD in economics from the University of Reading. She was a member of PASOK's Central Committee until 1988, and served as Deputy Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology 1986 to 1987 and as Deputy Minister of Commerce in 1988. In 1989, she was appointed as Greece's European Commissioner, taking the post of Commissioner for Employment, industrial relations and social affairs in the second Delors Commission. Akis Tsochatzopoulos
Apostolos-Athanasios "Akis" Tsochatzopoulos ( el, Απόστολος-Αθανάσιος (Άκης) Τσοχατζόπουλος; 31 July 1939 – 27 August 2021) was a Greek politician, engineer, and economist. He served as a minister in several Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) cabinets between 1981 and 2004 most notably Minister of the Interior three times and the Minister of National Defence during the Andreas Papandreou and Konstantinos Simitis governments respectively. Tsochatzopoulos was a founding member of PASOK. He was elected to the Hellenic Parliament for the first time in 1981 and remained in seat until 2007. Nikos Konstantopoulos
Nikos Konstantopoulos (; born 8 June 1942 in Krestena, Elis) is a Greek politician, member of the Hellenic Parliament and former president of the left-wing Synaspismos. His daughter, Zoi, was until September 2015 the Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament. Antonis Kotsakas
Antonis Kotsakas ( el, Αντώνης Κοτσακάς; born in 1947) is a Greek politician, former member of the Greek Parliament for the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) for Chios and former minister. Now he is a member of Syriza. He was born in Thymiana in Chios but grew up in Moschato. He worked as foreman in construction. He was a founding member of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement in 1974. The Ministry for the Aegean ( el, Υπουργείο Αιγαίου) was a government department of Greece. It was founded in 1985 (Law 1558/1985), with Mytilene as its seat, and tasked with supervising the development of the long-neglected Aegean Islands.
