Kostakis Artymatas
Kostakis Artymatas ( el, Κωστάκης Αρτυματάς, born 15 April 1993) is a Cypriot professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for and captains both Cypriot First Division club Anorthosis Famagusta and the Cyprus national team. Club career Early career Artymatas started his playing career when he was eight years old at Enosis Neon Paralimni academies and at age sixteen he moved to Nottingham Forest academies in England where he stayed for three years. He returned to Cyprus in June 2012 and he made his professional debut with Enosis Neon Paralimni on 15 September 2012, in a league match against Anorthosis Famagusta which ended in 1–1 draw. APOEL On 14 June 2013, Artymatas moved from Enosis Neon Paralimni to APOEL (for a transfer fee of €120,000) and he signed a four-year contract with his new club. The 2012–13 Cypriot First Division was the 74th season of the Cypriot top-level football league. It began on 1 September 2012 and ended on 19 May 2013. AEL Limassol were the defending champions. APOEL won the championship two matchweeks before the end of the season. The league comprise eleven teams from the 2011–12 season and three promoted teams from the 2011–12 Second Division. The 2015–16 Cypriot First Division was the 77th season of the Cypriot top-level football league. It began on 22 August 2015 and ended on 15 May 2016. APOEL were the defending champions. Athlitiki Enosi Lemesou ( el, Αθλητική Ένωση Λεμεσού, translation=Athletic Union of Limassol) commonly known as AEL, is a Cypriot sports club based in the city of Limassol, most famous for its football team. AEL also maintains a men's and women's basketball teams, a women's volleyball team and a (newly established in 1976) Futsal team, a women's handball team as well as a cricket team. The 2014–15 Cypriot Cup was the 73rd edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 26 clubs entered the competition. It began on 29 October 2014 with the first round and concluded on 20 May 2015 with the final which was held at GSZ Stadium. APOEL clinched their 21st Cypriot Cup trophy and their second in successive seasons with a convincing 4–2 victory over AEL Limassol. Format In the 2014–15 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division and the Cypriot Second Division (Divisions B1 and B2). Cypriot Super Cup
The Cypriot Super Cup is a Cypriot football trophy, contested in an annual match between the previous season's Cypriot First Division champions, and the Cypriot Cup winners. The match is contested at the beginning of the football season, and is usually played at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia. The most successful team in the competition are Omonia, who have won the trophy on 17 occasions. The current holders are Apollon Limassol, who defeated Omonia 2–0 in the 2022 match. History The first match was played in 1951, under the name Pakkos Shield (Greek: Ασπίδα Πάκκου). The trophy was not awarded to the winner of the match, but would instead be awarded to the overall most successful team in the competition, after 10 matches.
