Korouoma Canyon
Korouoma is about long, few hundred metres wide and up to deep canyon at Posio, Finland. The entire area is a natural reserve. At the bottom of the canyon there's Korojoki River, which ends up to Kemijoki River. There are plenty of species in varied nature of Korouoma. Some of species found are rare. Korouoma offers great opportunities for hiking, watching the nature, fishing and reviewing the cultural history of usage of nature at the area. Korouoma is fairly popular hiking area. There is a marked hiking path at the bottom of the Korouoma and several fireplaces, huts and cabins. Finnish Administration of Forests takes care of the routes and hiking related infrastructure there. Part of Korouoma's distinctive nature are the cliffs both sides of it, where several streams freeze during the winter forming huge ice formations. Antti-Matias Antero Autti (born 15 March 1985) is a Finnish Snowboarding who won the Men's Superpipe at the 2005 Winter X Games. He is one of two snowboarders, along with Steve Fisher, ever to beat American snowboarder Shaun White in the X Games Superpipe. Autti is the first non-American to win the event. He began his final run with back-to-back 1080s, and is only the third snowboarder to land the sequence in competition, behind Michael McBee and Ross Powers. His technical performance sparked the "1080 Revolution" and set a new standard in men's halfpipe competition, where athletes must throw at least one 1080, if not two back-to-back, in order to do well in contests.
