Kornylo Ustiyanovych
Kornylo Mykolayovych Ustiyanovych (Ukrainian: Корни́ло Микола́йович Устияно́вич; 22 September 1839, Volkyv, Lviv Raion — 22 July 1903, Dolgoye, Drohobych Raion) was a Ukrainian painter, writer and folklorist. His paintings are largely in the Academic style. Biography His father , was a priest, poet and member of the Regional Diet. He began his education in Buchach, then completed it in Lviv. From 1858 to 1863, he attended the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, where he studied under the Polish painter, Artur Grottger. While there, he was influenced by the works of Józef Bohdan Zaleski and his political views were altered from Pan-Slavism to Ukrainian patriotism. He published his first poems in 1861. He became one of the first members of Prosvita, a Ukrainian nationalist organization, in 1868. Borys Voznytsky Lviv National Art Gallery ( uk, Львівська Національна Галерея Мистецтв імені Бориса Возницького) is the largest art museum in Ukraine, with over 62,000 artworks in its collection, including works of Ukrainian, Polish, Italian, French, German, Dutch and Flemish, Spanish, Austrian and other European artists. The artwork is currently divided into three major collections, housed in the historic Lozynsky and Potocki Palaces, while the Gallery additionally has the charge of fifteen small museums and historical buildings in or close to Lviv. In Eastern Christianity, an iconostasis ( gr, εἰκονοστάσιον) is a wall of icons and religious paintings, separating the nave from the sanctuary in a Church (building), church. ''Iconostasis'' also refers to a portable icon stand that can be placed anywhere within a church. The iconostasis evolved from the Byzantine architecture, Byzantine templon, a process complete by the 15th century. A direct comparison for the function of the main iconostasis can be made to the layout of the great Temple in Jerusalem. That Temple was designed with three parts. The holiest and inner-most portion was that where the Ark of the Covenant was kept. This portion, the Holy of Holies, was separated from the second larger part of the building's interior by a curtain, the "parochet, veil of the temple". Ukrainian Discourse Theatre
The Ukrayinska Besida Theatre (until 1914: Ruska Besida Theater) – was the first Ukrainian professional theater in operation from 1864 to 1924. Its first performance took place in the premises of The Ukrainian National Home (Народний Дім) building in Lviv. The theater was subsidized by the Ruska Besida Society in Lviv and occasionally supported by the Diet of Galicia and Lodomeria, Galician Diet. Beginnings "Руська бесіда" was a society, which arranged literary, musical and dance evenings, concerts, balls and lectures. One of its tasks became the organization of a theater.
