Alexander Alexandrovich Kornilov (russian: Алекса́ндр Алекса́ндрович Корни́лов; 30 November 1862 – 26 April 1925) was a Russian historian and Liberalism, liberal politician. Biography Prior to the Russian Revolution of 1917, Kornilov was a history professor at the Polytechnicum of Peter the Great in Saint Petersburg and author of a definitive history of 19th century Russia. He specialized in the reign of Alexander II of Russia and the life of Mikhail Bakunin. In 1917, he served as secretary of the Central Committee of the liberal Constitutional Democratic Party and chairman of the party's Petrograd Committee. After the Russian Civil War (1918–1920) Kornilov taught at the renamed Saint Petersburg State Polytechnic University, Polytechnical Institute in Petrograd and continued his work on Bakunin. Aleksandr Sergeyevich Kornilov (russian: Александр Сергеевич Корнилов, also transliterated Alexander, born 12 April 1985) is a Russian rower. He won a gold medal in coxed fours at the 2007 European Championships and a silver in eights in 2016. Boris Kornilov
Boris Petrovich Kornilov (''russian: Бори́с Петро́вич Корни́лов'') (29 July 1907, in Pokrovskoye, Semyonovsky Uyezd, Nizhny Novgorod Governorate – 20 February 1938) was a Soviet, Russian poet. He is probably best known for penning the words to ''The Song of the Counterplan'' ('' Песня о встречном'') which was used to open the morning radio broadcast throughout the Soviet Union, even for years after its author perished during the Great Purge. Kornilov was arrested on 19 March 1937, sentenced to death on 20 February 1938 and shot in Leningrad the same day. Kornilov has been posthumously rehabilitated, and there is a museum and a statue dedicated to him in the town of Semyonov, near his birthplace. Denis Aleksandrovich Kornilov (russian: Денис Александрович Корнилов; born 17 August 1986) is a Russian ski jumper who has competed at World Cup level since 2003. Ivan Kornilov
Ivan Alekseyevich Kornilov (1899–1953) was a Soviet general. Kornilov rose through the ranks of the Red Army in the 1930s and was promoted to the rank of major-general in June 1940, commanding the 45th Rifle Division. He was in command of the 49th Rifle Corps during the early phases of Operation Barbarossa in 1941, but was badly wounded and had to give up his command. Shortly thereafter he was captured by the German Army and spent the rest of World War II as a prisoner of war. He was detained by Soviet security services for the routine security checks as part of the filtration process administered to ensure that the newly liberated captured Soviet soldiers had not collaborated with their Nazi captors during captivity, but cleared and allowed to resume his military career in the same year. Lavr Georgiyevich Kornilov (russian: Лавр Гео́ргиевич Корни́лов, ; – 13 April 1918) was a Russian military intelligence officer, explorer, and general in the Imperial Russian Army during World War I and the ensuing Russian Civil War. Kornilov was of Siberian Cossack origin. Today he is best remembered for the Kornilov Affair, an unsuccessful endeavor in August/September 1917 that was intended to strengthen Alexander Kerensky's Provisional Government, but which led to Kerensky eventually having Kornilov arrested and charged with attempting a coup d'état, and ultimately undermined Kerensky's rule. Kornilov escaped from jail in November 1917 and subsequently became the military commander of the anti-Bolshevik Volunteer Army which took the charge of anti-Bolshevik opposition in the south of Russia. Vice Admiral Vladimir Alexeyevich Kornilov (; 13 February 1806 – 17 October 1854) was a Russian naval officer who took part in the Crimean War and is known for his battle against the Pervaz-ı Bahrî in what is considered the first battle between steam ships.
