Korban Blake is a British multi-genre author whose work includes science fiction, horror and apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction, and a non-fiction survivalism guide, as well as poetry, and news articles. Recent works are published by Archaeopteryx Books. Blake is also an outsider artist and displays art work in exhibitions local to the East Anglia region of the United Kingdom. Blake is also an activist and campaigner for civil liberties, human rights and environmental issues. Gennady Vladimirovich Korban (russian: Геннадий Владимирович Корбан; born 9 February 1949) is a retired middleweight Greco-Roman wrestler from Russia. Between 1979 and 1981 he won two world titles, two European titles, two Soviet titles, and an Olympic gold medal. Korban took up wrestling in 1962 and won a gold medal at the 1973 Summer Universiade. He retired in the early 1980s to work as a wrestling coach, first in Russia and then in Germany, where he immigrated after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Hennadiy Olehovych Korban ( uk, Геннадій Олегович Корбан; born May 24, 1970) is a Ukrainian businessman and politician. A patron of the Jewish community in Dnipro, he served as the head of the UKROP party from July 12, 2015 to January 23, 2016. Biography Early life and business career Hennadiy Korban was born on May 24, 1970 in Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro) to a Jewish family of Soviet engineers. His parents are also Israeli citizens. Raised in Dnipropetrovsk, he graduated from secondary school No. 21 in 1987 and unsuccessfully attempted to enrol at the faculty of philosophy at a university in Rostov-on-Don. He later returned to Dnipropetrovsk and entered the National Mining University of Ukraine, but shortly suspended his studies as he was called up for military service in the Soviet Armed Forces.
