Kopani ( uk, Копані) is a village in Polohy Raion (district) in Zaporizhzhia Oblast of southern Ukraine, at about southeast of the centre of Zaporizhzhia city. It belongs to Orikhiv urban hromada, one of the ''hromada''s of Ukraine. Nearby villages are Nesterianka to the north-west and Robotyne to the east. Points Of The Compass
The points of the compass are a set of horizontal, radially arrayed compass directions (or azimuths) used in navigation and cartography. Russian Occupation Of Zaporizhzhia Oblast
The Russian occupation of Zaporizhzhia Oblast is an ongoing military occupation, which began on 24 February 2022, as Russian forces invaded Ukraine and began capturing the southern portion of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. On 26 February, the city of Berdiansk came under Russian control, followed by the Russian victory at Melitopol on 1 March. Russian forces also laid siege and captured the city of Enerhodar, home to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which came under Russian control on 4 March. The capital of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Zaporizhzhia, has not been taken by the Russian army and remains under Ukrainian control. In May, Russia started offering passports in those regions. Robotyne
Robotyne ( uk, Роботине, ) is a village in Polohy Raion, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Ukraine. Administratively, it is part of Tokmak urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The village is approximately southeast of Orikhiv, and north of Tokmak. It had a population of 480 in 2001. History 19th-20th centuries According to Yu. Knyazkov, the area was initially settled as a farm in 1818 under the Russian Empire by migrants from the city of Orikhiv. The name is itself derived from the surname of the first settlers, Robota. In 1869, the village was officially founded. The area was administratively assigned to the Solodko-Balkiv Volost, Berdyansky Uyezd, Taurida Governorate. Until 1865, the inhabitants belonged to the parish in Orikhiv, prior to being transferred to nearby Kopani. Almost all residents were ethnic Ukrainians.
