Konya Tram
The Konya tram is a tram system located in Konya city of Turkey. Konya's first tram line was opened on April 15, 1992. The system is 41 km long with two lines and has 41 stations. The tram is among the most heavily used in Turkey. History In 1987, the Konya Metropolitan Municipality announced plans for a new light rail network in order to provide safe, cheap and fast transportation to citizens of the city. Construction of the first phase of Line One began in 1987. After 5 years of construction work, the Alaaddin-Republic line was opened for public use. In 1996, this line was extended to the northern district of Selcuklu and Selcuk University. In 2015, the Alaaddin-Adliye line was put into service. Operation The Konya Tram operates two lines. The Konya Metropolitan Municipality is construction an underground rail system the Konya Metro. The Metro will connect with the tram at Meram Beledeysi and Konya Railway Station. Konya Metropolitan Municipality
Konya () is a major city in central Turkey, on the southwestern edge of the Central Anatolian Plateau, and is the capital of Konya Province. During antiquity and into Seljuk times it was known as Iconium (), although the Seljuks also called it Darü'l-Mülk, meaning "seat of government". In 19th-century accounts of the city in English its name is usually spelt Konia or Koniah. Elmalı Hamdi (Konya Tramvayı)
Elmalı is a town and district in Antalya Province, the Mediterranean region of Turkey. It lies about inland, near the town of Korkuteli and west of the city of Antalya. In 2007, the population for the whole district was 36.213, of which 14,038 live in the town of Elmalı. Formerly known as ''Kabalı'' and ''Emelas''. Geography Elmalı is a small plateau at the head of a long upland valley in the ''Beydağları'' range of the western Taurus Mountains, surrounded by high peaks including the 2500m ''Elmalı Mountain''. Aside from the town of Elmalı, the district includes two other small towns (''Akçay'' and ''Yuva'') as well as villages. The area is watered by streams running off the mountains. Eyüp () or Eyüpsultan is a district of the city of Istanbul, Turkey. The district extends from the Golden Horn all the way to the shore of the Black Sea. Eyüp is also the name of a prominent neighborhood and former village in the district, located at the confluence of the Kâğıthane and Alibey streams at the head of the Golden Horn. The Eyüp neighborhood is a historically important area, especially for Turkey's Muslims, due to the presence of the tomb of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari.
