Konstantinos Papadakis ( el, Κωνσταντίνος Παπαδάκης; born 18 April 1975 in Athens) is a Greek politician. In 2014, he was elected to the European Parliament to represent the Communist Party of Greece. Member of the European Parliament In the 2014 European Parliament election, he was elected one of two MEPs on the list of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE). He is '' non-inscrit'', not affiliating with any parliamentary group. He is however member of the Committee on Regional Development, of the Delegation for relations with the Palestinian Legislative Council and of the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean. On 2 March 2022, he was one of 13 MEPs who voted against condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Greece is a European Parliament constituency for elections in the European Union covering the member state of Greece. It is currently represented by twenty-one Members of the European Parliament. Representation of Greece in the European Parliament Greece has had a delegation of Members of the European Parliament in the European Parliament since Greek accession to the EU in 1981. Originally, the Greek delegation numbered 25, but after 2004 that was reduced to 24 (due to the increase of the EU member countries). In 2009, it was further reduced to 22, and in 2014 to 21 MEPs. José Daniel Ortega Saavedra (; born 11 November 1945) is a Nicaraguans, Nicaraguan revolutionary and politician serving as President of Nicaragua since 2007. Previously he was leader of Nicaragua from 1979 to 1990, first as coordinator of the Junta of National Reconstruction (1979–1985) and then as President of Nicaragua (1985–1990). In the 1984 Nicaraguan general election, Ortega won Nicaragua's presidential election as the FSLN's candidate. Rolando José Álvarez Lagos (born 27 November 1966) is a Nicaraguan prelate of the Catholic Church. Non-Inscrits
Non-Inscrits (; abbreviated NI; also non-attached members, abbreviated NA) are Members of the European Parliament (MEP) who do not belong to one of the recognised political groups. These MEPs may be members of a national party, or of a European political party, but for a political grouping to be formed in the European Parliament there need to be 25 MEPs from seven different countries. Being part of a group grants access to state funds and committee seats, but the group members must be ideologically tied. Groups of convenience, such as the Technical Group of Independents, previously existed, but are no longer allowed, and the minimum requirements for group formation have been raised, forcing parties and MEPs without ideological similarity to already existing groupings to sit as non-inscrits.
