Agnes von Konow (5 March 1868 - 15 May 1944), was a Finnish activist for the protection of animals. She was the founder of the Finnish society for the protection of animals, SEY Suomen Eläinsuojeluyhdistysten liitto, and a pioneer within the animal protection movement in Finland.Suomen kansallisbiografia (National Biography of Finland) Life Agnes von Konow was born to the official noble Oskar Wilhelm von Konow and Amalia Sofia Malmström. Fredrik Ludvig Konow
Fredrik Ludvig Konow (23 June 1864 – 14 August 1953) was a Norwegian businessman and a politician for the Free-minded Liberal Party. He was born in Bergen as a son of merchant and consul Wollert Konow (1829–1885) and Wilhelmine Marie Bredahl (1828–1908). He was named after his grandfather, who was son of Wollert Konow and a brother of Wollert and Carl Konow. His great-great-grandfather was named Friedrich Ludwig Konow, and migrated to Bergen from Germany in the late 1700s. Fredrik Ludvig Konow was also a second cousin of Carl and Sten Konow, first cousin once removed of Wollert Konow (H) and Wollert Konow (SB), and uncle of Frederik Konow Lund. Friedrich Wilhelm Konow (11 July 1842, in Mechow – 18 March 1908, in Teschendorf) was a German entomologist who specialised in Hymenoptera especially Tenthredinidae. Henri Konow
Henri Konow (7 February 1862 – 18 January 1939) was a Danish naval officer, vice-admiral, and the last governor of the Danish West Indies, overseeing the transfer of administration to the United States of America following the Treaty of the Danish West Indies in 1916 under which the Kingdom of Denmark sold the islands now named the US Virgin Islands to the United States in exchange for US$25,000,000 in gold. Early life Henri Konow was born on 7 February 1862 in Copenhagen, Denmark, the son of the diplomat and ship-owner Hans Jacob Hesselberg Konow and Ida Marie West. Magnus Andreas Thulstrup Clasen Konow (1 September 1887 – 25 August 1972) was a Norwegian sailor who competed in the 1908 Summer Olympics, in the 1912 Summer Olympics, in the 1920 Summer Olympics, in the 1928 Summer Olympics, in the 1936 Summer Olympics, and in the 1948 Summer Olympics. In 1908 he was a crew member of the Norwegian boat ''Fram'' which finished fourth in the 8 metre class competition. Four years later he won the gold medal as a crew member of the Norwegian boat ''Magda IX'' in the 12 metre class. In 1920 he won his second gold medal as part of the Norwegian boat ''Sildra''. In his fourth Olympic Games he was a crew member of the Norwegian ''Noreg'' which finished fourth in the 8 metre class competition. Sten Konow. Sten Konow (17 April 1867 – 29 June 1948) was a Norwegian Indologist. He was professor of Indic philology at the Christiania University, Oslo, from 1910, moving to Hamburg University in 1914, where he was professor for Indian history and culture. He returned to Oslo as professor for Indian languages and history in 1919. He was a specialist on the Tibeto-Burmese languages. Konow was born in Sør-Aurdal in Oppland where his father Wollert Otto Konow (1833–95) was a parish priest married to Henrikka Christiane Johanne Molde Wolff (1841–1927). Konow studied art, graduating from Lillehammer in 1884. He then studied in Kristiania before movingt to Halle and worked in the Oslo University library for some time. Wollert Konow (Prime Minister Of Norway)
Wollert Konow (16 August 1845 – 15 March 1924) was the 12th prime minister of Norway from 1910 to 1912. He was the leader of a coalition cabinet. Konow's time as Prime Minister saw the extension of accident insurance to seamen in 1911. Background Konow was born in the borough of Fana in the city of Bergen, Norway. He was the son of Wollert Konow (1809–1881) and Marie Louise Oehlenschläger (1818–1910). His father was a writer and elected official. In 1842 his parents had purchased the historic Stend Manor in Fana where Wollert Konow was born. Wollert Konow was a grandson of the noted Danish poet and playwright Adam Oehlenschlager (1779–1850).
