Yves Allégret (13 October 1905 – 31 January 1987) was a French film director, often working in the film noir genre. He was born in Asnières-sur-Seine, Hauts-de-Seine and died in Paris. He was an assistant to film directors such as his brother Marc Allégret, Augusto Genina, and Jean Renoir. François Gall
François Gall (22 March 1912 9 December 1987) was a Hungarian-French modern impressionist painter. Personal life François Gall was born "Ferenc Erdelyi Gall" in 1912 in Kolozsvár, Hungary (now Cluj Napoca). In 1936, at age 24 years, he moved to Paris. Early in 1939, Gall returned to Kolosvàr to attend the bedside of his dying father. Once there, he could not return to France as the declaration of war was imminent. Gall's war time years were finished in Wels, Austria where he was a medic. He attended to Jewish people. After Austria's liberation from German occupation, Gall returned to his attic at 16 Dauphine Street, Paris and resumed his career as an artist. In 1949, Gall became a naturalized French citizen. Gall married Eugenia Chassaing, a young woman from the province of Quercy. They had three children: Lize-Marie (1947), Jean-François (1948), and Elizabeth-Anne (1956). Nicole Marie Jeanne Andrieu (21 October 1931 – 25 June 2016), better known as Nicole Courcel, was a French actress who achieved popularity through the 1950s and 1960s, though she is mostly unknown outside of France. Born in Saint-Cloud, in the western suburbs of Paris, she appeared in more than 40 films between 1947 and 1979. After working as an extra in a few films, she won a major role in ''Rendez-vous de juillet'' (1949), with Brigitte Auber. In 1970 she turned to television, appearing in different television films and miniseries, in which she continued to work until 2004. Courcel is best known for her role in Serge Bourguignon's ''Sundays and Cybele'' (1962). Michel Magne (20 March 1930 in Lisieux, Calvados, France – 19 December 1984 in Cergy-Pontoise, Val-d'Oise) was a French film and experimental music composer. Early life He was the fifth child in a family of eight. As young as age five, he was intrigued by his parents' piano. The Lisieux cathedral's organist taught him to play keyboards, and soon he played the harmonium during Sunday services. At age nine he found his parents' Wagner discs, and thereafter would often quote Wagner in his works. He then studied music at the french: Caen Conservatory, in Caen, France. The 15th Cannes Film Festival was held from 7 to 23 May 1962. The Palme d'Or went to the ''O Pagador de Promessas'' by Anselmo Duarte. Jean Marcel Lefebvre (3 October 1919Some sources indicate he was born in 1922. – 9 July 2004) was a French film actor. His erratic studies were interrupted by World War II. Taken prisoner and then requisitioned as a laborer, he escaped to join his family evacuated near Châteauroux and Neuvy-Saint-Sépulcre. He was a tram driver time in Limoges and seller of underwear. At the end of the war he returned to his home, in his house in Valenciennes, where he worked briefly for his father, and then entered the Conservatoire in Paris in 1948.
